Good shakshuka

Brunch café offering a vegan brunch option: vegan shakshuka, a dish with tofu, spinach and mushrooms in tomato sauce. The food is very good, and the staff is attentive and very fast. Too bad they only have one vegan option (sometimes they have a vegan brownie, but on the day we went they didn't).

Pros: Tasty shakshuka, Fast service

Cons: Few vegan options, Big tables to share with other customers

Good Vegan Shakshuka, but lack of more vegan options

We visited this brunch restaurant and tried their vegan shakshuka, which replaces the egg with tofu and includes mushrooms and spinach. All of this is served on a delicious base tomato sauce and vegetables ,as in any traditional shakshuka. It was a fantastic option, and they also offer plant-based milk for coffee, which is nice.

While we enjoyed the food, the main downside is the lack of more vegan options. Aside from the shakshuka, there’s a vegetarian burger and a few other minor options that can be made veganbon demand, b minut nothing else that is fully vegan from the start. We had also read in reviews that they offer a vegan brownie, but unfortunately, it wasn’t available during our visit.

The restaurant itself is medium-sized, with several shared tables. While sharing is optional, I personally think smaller, individual tables would be a better setup for those who prefer more privacy. On the plus side, they do have an outdoor terrace, and the service was very quick.

Lovely Neighborhood Brunch Spot

In a sea of brunch spots in Barcelona, we stumbled upon Ugot, which serves Vegan Shakshuka. In addition to the shakshuka, they offer vegan hamburger, hummus, salad, and a vegan brownie. The staff are lovely, vibe is cozy and cute, food is outstanding, coffee is excellent, and they are open early on Sunday (when many other restaurants in town are not). Highly recommend visiting!

Pros: Vegan option , Open on Sundays , Reasonably priced

Cons: May (or may not) charge for some substitutions
