wow Blackburn - Edit
One of the many times I've been delighted to have happy cow as a friend. Visiting a limited veggie area to find a new veggie restaurant, just opened.
Read moreHandy location minutes add the motorway my initial reading of the menu left me disappointed. Quorn! Why oh why. The menu also had a lot of Chinese sauces with mixed veg, I was worried.
Luckily during our wait there was a telephone call for take out and the staff were highlighting they had mock duck, mock chicken and mock beef available for vegans. I'm not sure why it isn't written on the menu.
We share spring rolls and seaweed to start, both decent.
For mains we shared broccoli and tofu, which was nice and peppery, sweet and sour mock chicken which was good but uninspiring and Singapore noodles. The noodles were the favourite, dry and spicy with a variety of ingredients.
For a new restaurant it was great Nd I look forward to returning.
Pros: lots of vegan, staff, tasty

Amazing meal - Edit
I have been vegan for ten years and I rarely get the opportunity to eat out locally so I was over the moon when I heard about To Be Vegetarian. My husband who is vegetarian was just as keen to visit and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the service wonderful, and the food was the best we have had in a long time. I can't praise them enough and will be going back regularly from now on.

Friendly and welcoming - Edit
A really friendly little restaurant. It is a welcome change for us to be able to choose from the whole of a menu in a Chinese restaurant in our area. The menu is varied with lots of dishes I would like to try when I return, with lots for any carnivore friends to choose from.
Read moreWe brought our baby with us and although a booster seat was provided he wasn't too interested in sitting still so myself and my husband had to hold him. But the owner was kind enough to hold him and entertain him for us for a little while and even made him some baby food. Above and beyond what we would expect.
Oh and the food was good too! We were asked whether we are vegans when we ordered so definitely vegan friendly.
Pros: welcoming and tasty
Cons: none

Best Chinese had in a long time - Edit
Went to 'to be vegetarian' last night. The food was delicious, very vegan friendly, I would say 80% of the menu was vegan and well marked what was and wasn't vegan. The owners were lovely and so welcoming. Well definitely be going back (again and again and again lol).

A change from the usual carnivorous offerings - Edit
We have used this restaurant for years as Guide village Cantonese. Now changed to vegeterian. So as a carnivore it was with some trepidation we returned to sample the fare. As we know the owners well we knew that they would put their heart and soul into making a success of their new venture. From the new decorated dining area to the very wide menu, they are trying to bring something different to the area.
Read moreI am not a vegetarian by nature but found something to try on the menu. Veg spring rolls, egg and corn soup. Mushroom / veg omelette with boiled rice. All served piping hot by the friendly owner. Will definitely be going again soon.
Pros: Will suit vegetarians , Will be suitable for vegans., I am sure even carnivores will find something
Cons: Dedicated carnivores will be disappointed , Small size dining area, Parking

lovely food, very vegan friendly - Edit
so good to see a chinese/cantonese vegetarian restaurant in the area & the food was lovely. there's 20% off for takeaway and there were lots of vegan choices. location is somewhat tucked away but it's such a gem to find! friendly atmosphere as it's a lovely family business (definitely worth supporting over chain restaurants!) which has been going for years but only recently turned vegetarian.
