Many Vegan Pastries - Edit
Appreciate all the vegan bakery items. Chocolate cookie crumble donut was good but rich. Moist when eaten fresh that day. Maple pumpkin donut was delicious.

Solid! - Edit
I had the everything & cheesy bagel sandwich and an iced orange chai latte and a blueberry muffin. The bagel was very good. Cheesy, good vegan sausage and the gluten free everything bagel was pretty good too. I will say I didn't like the latte that much. It was a tad watery and didn't have a strong flavor. The muffin was great! Loved the sugary topping.

Great all vegan food - Edit
Cute little shop with wonderful food, apparently all vegan and all gluten free. We had the double chocolate donuts and holy smokes were they delicious. We have a cookie we are saving for tonight. Delicious, tons of parking. Unfortunately the service consisted almost entirely of the zombie stare, with the clerk digging in a little cup the whole time putting crunchy things in her mouth? A supervisor manager was walking around and went between us and the order counter, but they didn't acknowledge us either. We are from the Midwest, so maybe it's us expecting a hello, thank you, or have a good day, any of that, and this is how it is in tourist towns/city folk. Just seemed weird. We are planning to try the bagels tomorrow!!

Good - Edit
I really liked the bakery overall - we tried vegan cupcakes, scones, cheddar and chive bagels (w Daiya), and multiple kinds of donuts. Everything was good, and I'm giving it the highest rating I can simply because it's a vegan friendly bakery in northern Michigan, but I certainly wouldn't say it's the best vegan bakery I've ever tried. Everything was a little on the dry side. Worth visiting if you're in traverse City though simply to support a bakery with lots of vegan options! I'd say the scone was good and the donuts are pretty good too.

One of my favorite stops! I love being able to stop somewhere I can eat *almost anything. I always bring home extra sweets with me and enjoy them throughout the week. Their donuts, cookies, and brownies are fantastic. Highly recommend.

Can't not stop here while in Traverse City; - Edit
It's always great to have a breakfast option in cities, and now with Stone Hound brewing adding a non plant based menu, this I believe is the only completely vegan place left in town. All of their drinks are amazing, and their pastries even excited our non vegan friends and family!

Lots of options, but out of a lot of them - Edit
So glad to have so many vegan options! Enjoyed cherry crumb pie, they were out of a lot of things which I would have liked to try, including the bagels (to be fair, it was 4th of July weekend). Everything is gluten free and vegan unless clearly labeled otherwise.

Who would've known you could get such delicious GF and vegan baked goods and good coffee in Northern Michigan?! It's a good thing I don't live here otherwise I'd have a hard time not visiting every single day to sample their big selection of treats. I didn't try the bagel melts but they look great for breakfast.

Best Bakery in Traverse City - Edit
Third Coast Bakery is the best bakery in Traverse City. In fact, I would say it is a strong contender for best bakery in the state of Michigan. It is fantastic. Being its own self-standing building, Third Coast Bakery can morph and ebb to its needs. They have a large backroom to bake in and even a side viewing area where, if you are lucky, you can watch the master bakers decorate cakes. There is also ample parking and outdoor seating to enjoy your treats.
Read moreSpeaking of the treats, there are treats a plenty. Third Coast offers wide selection of vegan goods, but their highlight are their vegan donuts. In my most recent visit, they were featuring Girl Scout cookie inspired donuts. My favorite was the Thin Mint donut, which comprised of double dark chocolate and a peppermint creme under the outermost chocolate frosting. I did not know you could even make this version of cake, frosting, and creme vegan and this creamy and this tasty.
Every time I come to visit Traverse City I make sure to stop at Third Coast Bakery. And every time they blow me away with how creative and imaginative their pastries are while still being vegan. This is a MUST visit place in Traverse City, and a great proof to bring to your friends to happily pronounce, "See! Vegan can be delicious!"
Pros: Entirely Vegan, Rotating Specials, Outdoor Seating

Plenty of choices - Edit
They have a little of everything - donuts, cookies, cakes, scones, bread, macarons, etc. The cheesecake was probably my favorite followed closely behind the donuts since it is just so hard to find vegan donuts anywhere

Yummy cake! - Edit
Even though she’s not vegan, my mom bought a VaVa Vanilla cake to celebrate her birthday so I could take part in the celebration. She, my dad, and I all really enjoyed the cake. It was no different from a non-vegan, gluten cake, in our opinion.

What a surprise and a treat to find this bakery in Traverse City!! Our Airbnb host left these in our room as a welcome treat, and I did a double take when I saw that they were vegan and GF!!! We tried the Cherry Sundae and the Vanilla Choc Chip cupcakes - both SO delicious. The frosting on the choc chip cupcake was perfection - silky smooth and perfectly sweet 👌🏼 My husband (omnivore) said he couldn’t even tell they were vegan/ GF. Amazing find!! We will be back!

There were 6 vegan donut options when we went. They have vegan cinnamon rolls, cookies, brownie bars, etc. They also have cherry pies! Those run out quick, so if you want one, get there early.

Best bakery in northern michigan! - Edit
Third coast continues to wow me. My husband and I did our wedding cake and cupcakes through them in 2021 and not only was everything absolutely stunning, but the taste was incredible. We had guests without allergies tell us after the fact that they didn’t even realize they were vegan and gluten free which I believe is huge these days. Since then we continue to make trips back and go out of our way anytime we’re in the area. We’ve had birthday cakes, cinnamon rolls, cupcakes, bagels, scones, pizza dough, bread, and so many more goodies that continue to be amazing each time we visit. They also have an extensive coffee/tea menu with many options and flavors! If all of this hasn’t sold you, the team is outstanding. The owner, Heather, and her entire staff are some of the friendliest and most caring, helpful people I’ve ever encountered! Do not miss this place if you’re in the northern Michigan! Pro tip: come on a weekday morning or right when they open on the weekends as they can sell out quickly.
