Delicious fresh fare

Had the kale salad and cranberry tea - all made with fresh ingredients and just what I needed on a hot Beijing day.

Pros: Fully vegetarian menu, Fresh vegetables and fruit

Nearly Died

We explained to the waiter that I’m very allergic to peanuts and he assured us that our order had no peanut oil, peanut powder, peanut sauce, etc. We checked more than 3xs to be sure because China. Our humus came to the table and I felt my throat close within seconds. My friends grilled the waiter until he admitted there were “possibly” peanuts in that and they had to call an ambulance. By the time the paramedics arrived, I couldn’t answer any questions. I blacked out, so hardly remember much else. No food safety or care for the customers. If I was in the states, I would have sued. I’m not sure if my friends even paid the bill, but I hope not.

Meh.

Nice atmosphere but this place represents a lot of what prevents veganism from spreading-Western style food that is overpriced and mediocre. If you are in Beijing and craving vegan, go to Vege Tiger.

Fabulous

What an amazing little restaurant. I saw them advertising a veggie burger but when I got here my body said nope go for the quinoa nut and berry salad! It was an awesome choice.

Located down a little hutong and a cozy little restaurant. A perfect choice for Beijing. I’ll be back!

Will be back

Did you know that you can come through China for six days without a visa if you can show them that you’re moving on via air to another city? So that’s what I did, and happy cow leads the way once again! This is a cute little place that we actually didn’t eat at yet but we are having hot wine in the freezing cold weather. Across the street is a Michelin star rated vegan restaurant called joy. We’re coming back here tomorrow. Service and atmosphere are pleasant and lovely.

So good we went twice

On our first night in Beijing we were starving and we found this restaurant in a little cool street nearby our hostel. They have plenty of vegan options and some veggie options too. We had the two kinds of burgers, both really good and the hummus and pita bread!
On the second time there I had the yellow curry (cause they didn’t have green curry) but it wasn’t as good as the burgers. The falafels look really good too although I did’t try them.

Western food

This restaurant serves mostly western food. For chinese standards, I don't know if this is a good western place, but from someone coming from Europe, this food can't really compare.

Pros: Average taste

Cons: Long wait

Always visit when in Beijing

I always come here when I am in Beijing. It is my comfort food. Always know what I get here. Nice homemade food and lovely staff. Love their sweet potato chips and cakes. Lovely atmosphere and great location. Easy to get there too.

Good food

Mushroom burger were okay. A bit dry but size of the portion was ok. Price for the burger is 68 rmb. Soda water 18 rmb and chocolate peanut butter shake 42 rmb. Shake was really tasty!

Pros: Western food

Cons: A bit expensive compared to chinese restaurants

Good Food - mostly not Chinese food

First, this restaurant is not completely vegan. There are a few items, clearly marked, that contain milk. Menu items marked 纯 (and it's most of them) are completely vegan.

I've been here a couple times. The food is good, and the location is very nice. Menu has English translations. Although, it is a bit on the pricey side.

Pros: english menu , vegan option

Cons: marked items use milk, price

Great vegan restaurant

This is a great vegan restaurant. I recently went there and, although I arrived a bit after lunch time, there was still a great selection of food available. The food was nicely presented and very delicious.

Great food, but could be better

The Veggie Table is probably still my favourite vegan place in Beijing, just because of the great selection of western dishes and the quality of the food.

Yes, it’s expensive, the portion sizes are tiny and the service could be a lot, lot better, but in a country where eating vegan is a challenge, this place makes it feel easy

Pros: Amazing food , Great selection, English menu

Cons: Very expensive , Service could be better, Small serving

Great food in a cool neighborhood

We had dinner here a few nights ago and enjoyed it. The menu is large and multi-ethnic so it provides a change of pace from other Beijing restaurants that focus on Chinese cuisine.

I had the falafel plate and my wife had the thai curry with a side of vegan coleslaw. Everything we had was very good. Overall the meal cost more than others in Beijing. This may be due the location - the Wudaoying Hutong is a hip shopping street with upscale clothing stores and cafes.

The restaurant is very easy to find and is about 5 minutes from the #2 metro. The staff speaks good English.

Pros: Great location, Extensive multi-ethnic menu, Staff speaks English

You can't go wrong here, if u can get here.

The marker on my Gmaps was off by several blocks, but I enjoyed the walk here. You can't get here straight from the Confucius temple, but it's the best landmark.

Pros: Vegan?

Cons: The menu has mention of egg and dairy, don't know why

Nice and cozy atmosphere, worldwide food

Address on the app is incorrect! As seen in the pics of this page - take exit E of Yonghegong Lama Temple, continue few meters in the alley and turn left to the bars and restaurants street. The area is beautiful especially at evening!

Atmosphere was great, they have comfortable couches and the design is cozy and nice. Staff is very nice and kind, some speak English and will help you pick the best food for you.

Many worldwide dishes there including soups, humus & falafel, salads, spreads, couscous, pasta, Indian food, burgers & sandwiches, French fries, rice, cakes, smoothies, tea and other drinks.
Cauliflower soup is not vegan!

Food was really good:
Lentils soup - just like at home, with cumin and perfect flavors. Comes with nuts in case you are allergic.
Curry vegetables - a very big dish with strong curry taste and some brown rice. Great choice (slightly spicy).
Moroccan couscous - pretty good, very hot and home like for middle easterners.
Chocolate cake - not bad, kids will love it and it "doesn't feel vegan" (said by not vegan friends).
Belgian choco - good strong chocolate flavored, hot and a great way to warm up in the cold weather.

Overall the experience was great, I hope to come back there sometime while I'm in the city. A little pricey even for a vegan place, yet afordable considering the overall low Chinese food prices. The perfect choice if you miss some food from other cultures.

Pros: Worldwide delicious food, Cozy, comfortable and in a beautiful area, Staff is nice

Cons: A little pricey

Vegan hot cocoa & more

My boyfriend and I ordered vegan burgers, chili, hot cocoa, and hot chocolate. The food was great on the whole — the chili and mushroom burger were the best from what we ordered. Be careful when locating the restaurant: the location listed on Happy Cow is a 7 min walk from the actual location.

Pros: Lots of Western vegan options, Great food

Cons: The service was somewhat slow, Hard to locate
