Serves meat, vegan options available. Offers two vegan options, a houmous starter and a risotto main. Food served all day during summer, Monday to Saturday. Dogs welcome. Open Mon-Sat 12:00-15:00, 18:00-21:00, Sun 13:00-20:00.
We had the vegan fish, chicken strips, chips, curry sauce & mushy peas. You can sit on the benches outside or round the back looking over the ocean. Definitely recommend, great to have choices in an area like this
The Takeaway attached to the restaurant is great! Loads of vegan options.
Chicken strips, fish, battered and plain sausages, spring rolls, onion rings and probably some more bits I’ve missed. All very tasty and would def recommend. #Veganuary
The catch for vegan fish and chips by the sea - Edit
So pleased to be able to get vegan fish and chips by the sea! We were a little early for the chippy opening so stopped at the ship inn for a pint and the children got to have a play . We then picked up vegan fish, chips, sausage, and curry sauce to take back for our tea.... Very pleased lovely food
Ate in this pub and the vegan lasagne was tasty and not too badly priced for the size of the portion that came with chips and garlic bread. Would have definitely eaten there again as several vegan options.
However, sat in bar the following afternoon. A member of public came in to ask about ordering vegan fish fingers. The landlord rudely replied he would need to go to takeaway fish shop to side of pub.
As the gentleman left he turned to someone in the pub and said "Ew he looks like a vegan, in fact he smells like vegan fishfingers"
I couldn't believe how rude he was. Definitely didn't eat there a second time!
4 vegan options now! I had the vegan lasagne which was very tasty and my partner had a chicken style burger with fries and slaw. They also had a dessert but we were full up
Ship Inn has limited, expensive option and more of a sit down type dinner place - have not tried to so can’t comment. However next door is The Catch, an attached Fish & Chips place with separate, well priced vegan options. Staff know all about it and portions are huge! Enjoy! Plenty of outdoor seating overlooking the beautiful Norfolk Coast!
The Catch is a fish and chip takeaway attached to the Ship Inn. When we visited they had a whole board of vegan options inside - fish fillets and fingers, chicken nuggets and sausages. The food was very nice and we were impressed with the options available.
