Delicious food is you can wait - Edit
I love this restaurant. It's cozy and small. Right across from a cute gift shop. Friendly staff. Delicious food!! However.... And they will tell you, everything is made fresh. So I always like to order their coconut curry which is AMAZING. I highly recommend it, however.... Because it's made fresh, I typically have to wait a while for it to be made. I think the longest I have waited was close to an hour. I inhaled it in like 10 mins because I was so hungry, but I would still get it again. Be patient, be kind. Don't go when you are already hungry and order the curry lol. Plan ahead for that one. Still totally worth it

Awesome vegan food in NY State! - Edit
Many options to choose from, and most can be made vegan. We went for dinner, and everything was delicious. Looking forward to trying their breakfast menu in the near future. Vegan pancakes and Tofu scramble preferably.

Good Food, Nice People - Edit
We got two highlighted items, the vegetable pakora appetizer and the BLAT. They were both tasty, interesting and satisfying. My girlfriend got the tofu kung pow. We each took more than half our entrees home. The fresh juices and shared appetizer could have been enough but having a great meal from this outing, the next day was fun too.

You MUST order in advance! - Edit
First, the pros: the food IS really delicious. Now, the cons: if you order in restaurant it’s a MINIMUM of a hour wait for the food.

get the BLAT - Edit
nearly all of their menu items are vegan or vegan optional, so you won’t have any shortage of options. breakfast is often served past breakfast hours so you can have pancakes for lunch/dinner. the food is prepared fresh, so be patient or order ahead of time. i’d suggest the vegan french toast or vegan BLAT, they’re my regulars and so so delicious!

Unexpected gem in tiny town - Edit
We travel through here a lot and always look for veg stops along the way. You have to love a building with vegetarian spelled out on it in giant letters. Two things we should have known: made to order food is not fast (for good and obvious reasons), and portions are massive. The pakora dish was 2 feet long and covered half of our table! We took home more food than we ate, but we started with the blended split pea soup, the best such soup I have ever had. The pakoras have a light non-greasy beautifully-spiced batter with sweet chili sauce on top. The yellow coconut curry was divine, and we got the paratha stuffed bread with potato since they were out of the tofu version. It was huge! The restaurant is connected to a home, it seems, and we saw two gorgeous akita dogs out back when we took a walk along the main street afterwards. Very sweet friendly service too. Small dining area despite a big building but tables out front are plentiful. I wish they would just ditch the dairy and go all vegan and wonder why places like this don't.

disappointing is generous - Edit
I have to be pretty disappointed in a vegan leaning restaurant in a vegan desert area to post a negative review but think others should be warned. The reviews saying the service is super slow but worth the wait are lying. There is no excuse for the hour + wait for pancakes and french toast in a restaurant with one other seated table who had already eaten. The warning ' we make everything fresh so it takes awhile' is a poor excuse for such awful service. This is a badly run kitchen. Even if they were milling the buckwheat it wouldn't take that long and they still were not good, way too much cinnamon, bad texture. In a normal restaurant I would have sent back the gummy French toast but after waiting forever, I was hungry. Maybe that's the game plan, you wait so long you eat whatever is in front of you. Maybe the savory dishes are better but I still can't imagine they are worth the wait.

Nice quaint country cafe atmosphere. Had the Protein Burrito with homemade paneer cheese added. It was huge, very filling and absolutely delicious. The cheese was amazing. Loved the complimentary banana that came with the check.

I was just going for a Sunday drive and stumbled upon this place. This spot is great. Most of the menu is vegan, if it’s vegetarian it can be make vegan. The staff is so lovely. I ordered the roti, daal and pakora. If you get the roti dip it in the daal! OH and I finished everything with a tasty hot chocolate.

AMAZING!!! This place is at least 50% vegan, I’d actually say it’s 90% vegan because almost everything on the menu can be made vegan, the menu is labeled as well. Food is delicious!! Unique and creative. All made FRESH to order. Staff very friendly, cute cafe type atmosphere.

Tasty variety — most everything on the menu is vegan or can be made vegan - Edit
It was an unexpected pleasure to find a vegetarian restaurant in rural Wurtsboro near our hiking destination, Sams Point in the Shawangunk Mountains. The breakfast menu's 8 items and the lunch/dinner menu's 19 items have a nice variety of American and Indian dishes. Portions are generous. My breakfast paratha wrap was delicious and filling, and spouse's protein burrito equally so. Outdoor seating on the porch was pleasant. I'd give the place five stars but for the slowness of the service. In the end it was worth the wait, but the wait was very long. Not a place to go if you're raring to get on with the rest of your day, as we were. One suggestion if the management reads this — the herbal tea selection should include some basics like peppermint tea and ginger tea; gourmet combinations like turmeric-chamomile-rose are all well and good but some people prefer simpler fare.

Nice Spot - Edit
This is a cute little spot. We did lunch but I would be really interested in trying their breakfast menu. They were out out sourdough bread which I saw had great reviews, so I got the BLAT on a wrap. I get a little disappointed when I see places using pre-made “mock meats” like Gardein. Unfortunately that was the case for this place. It does look like they do have some other options to avoid this though. The fries we sooo delicious so o definitely recommend getting them.

Red Dot is one of my favorite places to order lunch from. I love how many vegan options they have and that most of their menu can be made vegan. My favorite is the BLAT and the Tikka Masala with soy nuggets. Owners and staff are very friendly and helpful.
Read moreSome tips: I wouldn’t recommend ordering from them on a whim. Plan it out and expect to wait a while for food, especially on weekends. There have been times where I’ve wanted to order and they couldn’t accommodate an order for at least three hours or more. It does suck having that long of a wait, but I really appreciate that they’re completely transparent and don’t lie about their wait times like many other restaurants.
Highly recommend ordering a loaf of sourdough to go if they have it available it’s so good.
Pros: The majority of their menu can be made vegan, Lots of love goes into their food, Super friendly owners and staff
Cons: Very long wait times

1-STAR: Misleading menu & AWFUL WAITING - Edit
Disclaimer: Happy Cow will not allow less than 2 stars as a fully vegetarian business. I do not believe they are based on the products on their menu, but I digress!
Read more10/2/21: This place has the worst wait time of any restaurant I’ve ever been. 90 minutes from order placed and not everything showed up until we were ready to leave another 30 minutes later — A FULL 2 HOURS LATER!
The menu needs to state they are simple reheating ConAgra owned brand Gardein products for their mock meats. Why was my $14 Fish-Less Chips and Fries so expensive when the 3 filets I could have bought a pack of 6 for approx $5 at the local market? The plate was also all fries which were sprinkled with sweet spices, making them not savory.
My bf’s Protein Burrito was made from Gardein Chick’n Scallopini with vegetables.
This is my second time ordering here, both horrible service time, horrible quality. I will not plan to return.
