Good tasty vegan options - Edit
Went with non vegans but pleasantly surprised that most of the cold mezze and sides were vegan so we got a lot to share! Personally found the vegan meatballs a bit too herby, but other options were nice.

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Most sides vegan

Needs improvement - Edit
Had been to The Real Greek in Covent Garden a few years ago in 2019 and had really enjoyed it, unfortunately this time it wasn't as nice.
Read moreWhen we walked in the waitress said they only take bookings so I replied to ask whether they are full, she just nodded blankly and then walked away. When we looked online there was loads of space so had to book on there just to walk back in.
I had the jackfruit gyros which was quite bland and I didn't enjoy it. However the dolmades were good. Overall I wouldn't recommend, service wasn't great and neither was the food.

The Real Greek - Edit
I was honestly very disappointed with the taste and quality of the food at this location. It was nothing like the other locations I had been to. A lot of my food tasted very sour and I ended up throwing it away. My favorite item sold at this chain (green pea fave) tasted vile.
Read moreHere is my perspective on the chain as a whole from other locations:
You need to know what to order, because some of their menu items can be quite bland while some are incredibly flavorful.
First let's start with the bland:
- Greek salad w/o cheese ... no taste at all
- Santorini fava ... meh
- Beetroot and lentil salad w/o feta ... unremarkable
- Vegan meatballs ... disappointing
Now let's end with the delicious options:
- Green pea fava ... I can eat spoonfuls of this! Dare me to!😄
- Greek flatbread with dukkah ... pairs well with the green pea fava
- Gigandes with spinach ... great, but I need to add salt to them
- Chickpea filo triangles ... if you like samosas, you'll fall in love with these
- Pourgouri bulgar wheat ... loved this, but it also needed a little salt.

Avoid - Edit
It isn’t worth spending your money here. The food had no taste and waitress was not really friendly. They took an eternity from the start for us to be seated, taking our order, bringing the drinks over and giving us our bill.

Amazing food & offers - Edit
When we went they continued the 50% past help out to eat out, which meant the food was so cheap ! Even without discount the food isn’t mad expensive and worth the price - about £6.50 for a big wrap. Also offer 25% off student discount. We went all out and got gyros with falafel and hummus and sides of slaw and chickpea parcels. Also tried the Smokey aubergine dip with veg sticks. Delicious food and really friendly helpful service. Would defo go back 🌟

Not my first choice - Edit
There are enough vegan items to make a meal if you're going with omni friends but I wouldn't go here specifically when I've been to much better Greek restaurants that cater better.

Good selection of cold and hot mezze. Separate vegan section on menu. Vegan souvlaki available too. Very busy but friendly service and food was tasty.

Perfect place to eat with omnis - Edit
A good place to eat with omni friends and family. They have an extensive vegan menu with many gluten free options too. You can have tapas style food and meals or you can opt for bigger dishes such as wraps. They use lots of jackfruit and the food is really tasty. Really recommend the santorini hummus!

Vegan options but disappointing - Edit
I love Greek food and was very pleased to see numerous vegan options... but the quality was disappointing and not up to the standard I was used to in Cyprus. My jackfruit souvlaki had very soft jackfruit rather than firm and chewy, so not very meaty. The filo pastry was thick and greasy, unlike proper Greek pastry. And the loukoumi was much too sweet and had a strange taste reminiscent of pork... indeed afterwards it turned out that it contained pork gelatin. Although I later realised there was no "V" or "VG" next to this dessert, it really should have been marked clearly on the menu that this dessert was not vegetarian or halal / kosher for that matter.
Read morePros: A number of vegan options.
Cons: Uses pork gelatine without warning., Disappointing quality.
