I went here 3 months ago for my birthday and was able to have a pub lasagne for the first time in 3 years because it was completely vegan. Best. Day. Ever!!

The Queen Inn were helpful from the start when I booked as I booked two consecutive days as I was travelling and wasn't sure which day I'd arrive. When I did arrive, I ended up being a bit late which they accommodated just fine. They were so helpful to my needs including letting me bring my bicycle into the pub whilst I ate. One of the staff members also helped me find a hotel for the night. Above and beyond service.

Whilst they are now vegan only, there isn't a song and dance about it - it's just a really lovely pub which serves vegan food. I don't know if I'll ever be around Newport again, but I would be swayed with The Queen Inn!

So much choice but we had a burger with and chicken burger, both with cheese and bacon, all Vegan.They came with homemade coleslaw and homemade chips still with the skins on - yum. Nothing looked like it had ever seen a freezer. Anything that was left on our plates was because we were ready to pop after tucking in.
The food felt like it was cooked by people who understand food - not pretentious or fussy , just really good grub without any animal products.
To top it off, the service was so nice, I would be worn out walking up and down the steps to the garden all day , but the lady who brought our food seemed to really enjoy her work .
Cant wait to try something else.

….. make it The Queen. A real family owned pub that is 100% vegan including all drinks. Fantastic food, from pub grub classics to healthier options, Sunday lunch and regularly changing specials. Lovely atmosphere with outside seating and even a duck-filled stream running past the pub! The staff could not be more welcoming and helpful. Very reasonably priced too. It’s like a pub made in vegan heaven!

Pretty, idyllic setting (can’t wait to visit in the summer and sit outside), warm welcome and great service. So refreshing to be able to order anything from the menu and not worry about if what you’ve been served is vegan. Good selection of different meals, everything we order was really good, easily one of the best meals out in all my 8 years of being vegan. Already booked to come back😄

The pub has now gone completely vegan after a successful veganuary 2022. The entire food menu is incredible and the quality and taste of the food I’ve had had been incredible.
My favourite local eatery which I have been going to on a regular basis.

Made a reservation to eat here during veganuary with my dad and sister who are both meat-eaters and we all loved our meal! So happy they've made the change to completely vegan so come and give them the support they deserve as some of their old customers are not supportive of the change and believe they will revert back to their original menu in a few months so help prove them wrong!

visited tonight as very excited by the 100% vegan choice! i dont know why but wasnt expecting much but the food was AMAZING we had carbonara and enchiladas then got carried away and order three side plates and im glad we did i recommend anyone to try these we Loved the bbq ribs ...got more carried away and had dessert to go as was far to full will defo be back..defo recommended any one to give this place a go wont be disappointed #Veganuary

The menu is extensive and actual food. I had the shrimp to start and they were amazing! Then I had the lamb donner, again amazing. I then finished with the biscoff balls, yummy! I went with three omni’s and they all loved it!

Just read that they'll have only vegan food and drink for January 2022, and thereafter about 50% vegan and lots of gluten-free choices. All-day vegan breakfast on January 1 "as a hangover cure."

Went for veganuary and it was amazing to have a fully vegan menu especially with the pub classics. Personally not that interested in the burgers as so many places do vegan burgers now.

A particular highlight were the garlic shrimp for starters. Super good!
Some desserts are homemade which is great (cheesecake, brownie and devils cake). We had the brownie and devils cake. The devils cake was better - like a classic American style chocolate cake. Brownie was a bit chewy and runny and the flavor was somewhat damaged by the bought chocolate sauce that had been put all over it so that was a shame.
Pub is easy to find on satnav and there is plenty of parking. Only about 30 minutes from Cardiff city center.
In terms of service, this wasn’t overly attentive and staff was somewhat rushed, eg was hard to keep them back to ask about the desserts - they just wanted to leave menu and rush off. So could be a little better/more engaged in that sense. But they were very friendly when we did speak to them.
Our particular table was right by the door to the toilets, the main issue being there was a draft and it was a bit chilly from that. Some other parts of the pub might be cozier/nicer in terms of the sitting/ambience element.
Definitely worth a visit for the food - it really is great having so many options. Especially of some pub classics eg sausage and mash and fish goujons and chips which I’d be keen to try another time.

Tons of options, a massive menu. They are doing something great for vegans. Would of been 5 stars but from the time our drinks were served till the food arrived was 48 mins. On Gordon’s kitchen nightmares he would be going nuts leaving a customer waiting so long and one of his solutions would be to simplify the menu. Maybe having so much choice and the chef making things from scratch slowed the service down I don’t know. Weird, we complain not enough options and when there are loads it’s too many. #Veganuary

Hey Wayne, really sorry about the wait! It was the first day of our Veganuary menu and we were fully booked every night that month. Because of the huge change to our menu and cooking methods we kinda expected food would take a little while as it took some getting used to. Such a lovely pub with a great vegan menu. We had the ultimate burger and "chicken" burger which were both amazing, vegan restaurant standard if not better. I had read it was dog friendly and they don't just say that, my dog had a great time and loved all the attention. Staff are very friendly and the service was great. 10/10.

Best range of vegan options in the area - Edit
The only pub I've ever been to with more than one or two vegan options. A great range and owners are keen to expand the vegan menu. I've had both moving mountains burger and the sero "chicken" burger- both delicious.
