Glad that they offer many vegan options. I had the Casado platter and it was delicious. Unfortunately my husband did not like the vegan shrimp tacos they had a weird texture, but enjoyed the onion rings, buffalo cauliflower and vegan drumsticks. My son liked the Beyond burger with yuca fries. Great service, nice ambiance.

We ordered the avocado toast, Daysy's blazin' vegan shrimp and the mediterranean eggplant wrap, which were all very nice. The staff is also very friendly and the food didn't take long to arrive.

Great place with a Key West type of vibe. Plenty of Vegan, Vegetarian options. I chose the 'Proper Whopper' which was a HUGE sandwich of 2 meatless patties on a bun with lettuce and sauce. Kind of a veg. take on the Burger King whopper, only 100 times better. I could not get my mouth wide enough to eat it - had to use knife and fork.

Great Find - Almost Vegan Restaurant - Edit
So glad to find this on Happy Cow on our way to Long Island. This is an almost vegan restaurant -- it is clear that the owner cares a lot about the food it serves and having veg options -- to be honest I wonder why they even offer non Veg options. Food is good, I had the surfer bowl with tofu, it was very flavorful but not at all spicy. Perfect for me. Also loved the vegan drumstick with the different dips. Would come back again if we are in the area!

I Would Rate Them Five Stars if I Could - Edit
Purple Elephant has SO many delicious vegan options! Half the time, you don’t even realize it’s vegan, it’s that good. A great place to get lunch or dinner, they offer actual full vegan menus with real food options such as vegan eggplant parmesan (one of my favorites). Favorite menu item would be their vegan wings though!!!!

We were so pleased to find this restaurant on our tour of the north shore of Long Island. Owner was a delight & food was delicious! I would have rated higher but because they are not fully vegan Happy Cow did not allow 😬

Wow - everything on the Vegan menu is a win! First of all it has a whole designated vegan section on the menu, and on other items easily identified as Vegan. The vibe in the restaurant is super chill- PURA VIDA!
Read moreWhenever my job has me out on Long Island I find an excuse to get over to Purple Elephant. It also offers waterside dining- which adds to the relaxing atmosphere. I’ve had the vegan buffalo shrimp tacos and the gung pao Korean Vegan beef tacos- wowzahs- those are the best! My friend had the vegan tempeh Reuben which she has returned for again! The buffalo cauliflower wings and homemade blue cheese dipping sauce is awesome! House brewed kombucha and a full vegan dessert menu - AND they have a bar with wine, beer, mixed drinks- a total WIN!

Impossible to find a vegan restaurant on Long Island -- this is a gem. They do serve meat but great vegan appetizers and entrees. Love the gallo pinto with brown rice so hard to find. Looking forward to my next trip to try more options

One of the few safe places for vegans to eat on Long Island. Delicious food made with love. Sadly, Happy Cow will not allow me to rate Purple Elephant five stars because it has some meat options. 95% of the food on the menu is vegan and the other 5% is labeled "not vegan."

Visited for lunch in late April. The vegan wings are amazing. The vegan wrap and vegan tuna melt were okay, but not spectacular and not worth the price. Everything from drinks to apps to mains is overpriced for the quality. It's a fun atmosphere though, and if you need to find a place with vegan and non vegan food, this works.

everything I've eaten here was delicious..especially desserts and jackfruit tacos but prices have steadily gone WAY up.. I don't think I'll be returning unless for a super special occasion.. it's just sad because long island doesn't have many truly delicious vegan options.. i know i would come at least 2-3x a month if prices were lower. they'd have so much more business if they just brought the price down .. I'm sure they're always packed now and it is a business that needs to make money but young people can't be throwing down +20$ on an entree (plus drinks,apps,dessert)

We love this restaurant! So many delicious vegan options on menu and daily vegan specials, desserts too! We live in Ithaca but come to northport a few weekends a year to visit family. We get all of our meals from purple elephant when in town. The tofu scramble is delicious and full of yummy veggies and soysage, eggplant parm is sooo amazing, the wings, the burnt ends( yum!!!), the best kale salad. They have vegan cannoli a sometimes and delicious cakes. My husband and I and our 3 kids so look forward to eating here. I only wish they would open one in Ithaca!
