Magnificent vegan fish and chips - Edit
Absolutely wonderful vegan fish and chips. We had the ‘cod’, ‘haddock’ and the tempura ‘prawns’ and I can’t decide which I liked most. The chips are utterly delicious too and you must order the curry sauce

We loved this place! We were lucky to have nice weather, but we had to sit upstairs since there was no ramp for our pram, which made it tough with a baby. They did help us by providing hot water for her bottle, though.

Not as good as I was hoping... - Edit
After many years of wanting to try this place it ends up to feel like a waste of money.
Read moreIf happycow allowed me to give a 1 star rating I would.
Me and GC got the cod and chips, haddock and chips, mushy peas, tartar sauce, jumbo shrimp and deep fried oreos.
I had very high hopes for this because I used to love haddock before being vegan and it's one of the tastes I missed most.
This was a complete disappointment, the haddock tasted pretty much like the cod. Both were very very greasy and I only finished the meal because I was starving and I know I will feel sick after it😡
both portion of chips had a lot of just crisped bits of chips that were very oily and seemed to add nothing to the meal other than adding to the weight to make you think you are getting a good portion size..we had paid extra for large meals and I felt ripped off by this. They only give a lemon slice for seasoning. No salt and vinegar for Deliveroo order so you cant even try to cover the grease taste.
The best I can say is the tiny tartar sauce was the best thing about this meal, and one of the tubs actually spilled in transit so that should have been a sign of how this meal was going to end up. The mushy peas were more like pea puree, no texture blended slightly seasoned and added nothing really.
The jumbo shrimp was very generic, it seemed like a shop bought one but a bad chewy one. The deep fried oreos were interesting and we got them half price because of a Deliveroo deal but weren't great as they were also very greasy tasting.
For the price £52 I was really hoping it would be amazing but sadly this has really turned me off ever eating here again.

Pros: Tartar sauce
Cons: Very very greasy (not just because of deep fry), Barely any salt

Disappointing - Edit
I've been wanting to eat here for years, so it's breaking my heart to give a bad review.
Read moreWe got the jumbo lemon shrimp, tartare sauce, mushy peas, a large cod meal, a large smoked haddock meal, and a portion of deep fried Oreos. Through Deliveroo the total price was around £50, but the Oreos were half price so it would usually cost a few pounds more.
The shrimp were just tough and rubbery. They didn't have much of a taste, and when combined with the unpleasant texture I just found them difficult to eat. They were very disappointed, especially as I've had some very nice vegan shrimp over the years.
The tartare sauce was nice, but the pots were tiny, and one wasn't closed properly and most of it spilled out during delivery.
I didn't like the mushy peas. I'm not sure if it's because I'm used to the way they're done in Ireland, but I found these very peppery and I didn't think it was a nice taste with mushy peas.
The fish and chips were only okay, but I found them so oily I couldn't finish mine, and apart from one occasion when I was too full to finish a meal, I think this is the first time I haven't finished a meal that I'm reviewing on HappyCow. I don't tend to not finish my food in general, so this is very unusual for me. I was trying to use the tartare sauce to try to cover up the taste of oil, but after around half of the meal I ran out of tartare (and I was being sparing with it to try to make it last the whole meal) and I just had to give up. Nothing in the meal tasted special, and I feel that it's something that you could easily make at home.
I had never had fried Oreos before, and unfortunately these just tasted of oil to me as well. The texture was soft, and very nice, but the oily taste from the dough just overpowered any taste from the Oreo.
Also, the food only had a very light dusting of salt and I would have liked more (which is a very rare complaint for me, I usually find things too salty), and no vinegar or anything else. They did give a small slice of lemon, which was nice, but definitely not enough to try to offset the oiliness.
Unfortunately I wouldn't eat here again. 💔
Pros: Fully vegan
Cons: Nothing special, To oily and greasy, Peppery mushy peas

Loved the triple cooked fries, mushy peas and Calamari. Tartare sauce was great too. Also has the jumbo lemon shrimp, it was ok but a bit rubbery. Nice location, friendly staff. The place gets busy. Be warned.

It’s rare to find a fully vegan fish and chips restaurant with lots of options but this place smashes it! I love that you can get tartar sauce and mushy peas and the service was friendly and efficient here.

'proper ' vegan fish and chips - Edit
Amazing experience, friendly staff, very inclusive place.
Read moreI've had vegan "fish" before but it's usually fried halloumi. This one is made of tofu and somehow it takes a bit like fish, probably the seaweed gives its flavour. They put a layer of sea weed in the outside, it really looks like fish skin.
I've been a vegetarian for 30 years but I think I still remember what fish tastes like. This really tricked my brain.

It was alright - Edit
I was excited to visit here, and service was good and always prefer a fully vegan place, but it didn't really make me feel I was in a seaside chippy. The chips were nice, but did not resemble chippy chips I can occasionally get from regular chippies with a vegan/chips only fryer (or I can get from a regular fish and chip shop, if I don't mind cross-contamination from the fryer).
Read moreThe cod and haddock were apparently the same, but the haddock had a bit more of a smokey flavour, so I ordered that. It felt like soy chicken sticks with some seaweed. Not the shape of a fillet with flaky fishness.
Thought might have been some animal related decor as it's owned by Earthling Ed (at least, I think it still is?).

Vegan fish - Edit
We don’t really miss the taste of fish or anything as vegans. But as we are visiting England, of course we had to try at least once the famous “Fish n chips”. And luckily the “fish” at The No Catch Co didn’t taste too fishy.
Read moreWe followed the recommendation and tried the cod with chips, as well as the jumbo lemon shrimps. Also had the kids menu with tofish and chips.
We actually liked the tofish the best. Toddler like it too; basically fried tofu with seaweed.
The shrimp texture was really shrimpy – as far as we can remember.
Service was friendly and fast.
You have to get down a couple of stairs before entering the restaurant; so not really accessible.
