Fab food, useless cutlery! - Edit
Both the fish and the chips were delicious and the gherkin enormous! Compostable paper-thin cutlery was not up to the job of cutting the fish. Basic cafe type space in basement but terrace with seaview (although no shade).

almost too Real in Taste- amazing - Edit
I loved it! Even my non-vegan friend was amazed, since it really tasted like fish but wasn't. Very likable people too, and dogs are allowed :)

Best vegan fish I’ve ever had! Not good calamari - Edit
As title says, the actual vegan fish was delicious. I don’t know what substitute they use, but it’s soooo yummy! We got the “cod”, which I would HIGHLY recommend, and enjoyed our meal by the sea. The chips and curry sauce were nice - nothing exceptional but pretty good. The calamari on the other hand, was underwhelming. £7 is pretty expensive for 6 calamari rings and whilst the texture is pretty accurate, the flavour just isn’t really there. Would suggest steering clear tbh and go for the fish and chips!

RUN DON'T WALK!!! - Edit
Went here in December 2025 so this review is delayed.
Read moreWe went here on the grossest, rainiest, windiest day. It was so windy we could barely open the door to get in. Truth be told I'd go back in a hurricane. It was that good.
A legit chippy but vegan. It was just perfect. Can't say anything more. Go now!!

Wish the ‘fish’ was more flavourful - Edit
We were really looking forward to trying g this dedicated vegan ‘fish’ and chip shop. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the service was quick and the portions were well sized. We had the ‘cod’ and chips and mushy peas. The peas and chips were excellent but the cod was not as flavourful or as good as others I have had elsewhere. Saying that if I was in the area again and wanted ‘fish’ and chips then I would still visit here.

got what we expected - Edit
would highly recommend the Cod and chips regular plate : cod is strong in taste and chips very crunchy
Read morethe small plates (calamari and prawns) were good but not excellent (texture is realistic but taste is plain)
were able to provide a small plate of haddock and that was almost the same as cod (which means very good)

I'm not a fan of chunky/triple cooked chips, i prefer chippy chips, but everything else was so good, would like to go back and try more options. The battered sausages and garlic aioli dip were lovely

The best vegan ‘fish and chips’ I’ve ever had? Probably - Edit
Fresh tasting, crispy, tasty. A bit more dense than the real thing (probably- it’s been ages since I’ve had real fish) - but you can’t have everything. Chips were amazing too!

Heaven really is a place on earth and it’s called No Catch! - Edit
I’m lost for words for how good No Catch is. From the moment you step foot in the door with a super friendly welcome, and leave with an abundance of yummy vegan food! We went for the “fish” goujons, the best “fish” I’ve ever had, plus the chips were lush! The vegan “shrimp” was also delicious, as well as the curry sauce and mushy peas. I will dream of No Catch many times

The Best Fish and Chips in Brighton - Edit
Oh my stars, I knew the hype before I came because this was my first stop in Brighton. I will be eating the scrumptious calamari every time I visit! I also had the haddock which was flaky and tasted of the sea (excellent faux fish)The batter was golden and crispy and the chips were chunky. The homemade tartar sauce was divine. The staff were also rather lovely.

Good but not epic, menu greatly reduced - Edit
Looks like the menu has changed within the last month - no cod, no haddock, just goujons - my partner loved them though. My jumbo battered saveloy was superb - dunno what brand they use but battered and deep fried it was massive and excellent. Chips were like Belgian fries rather than chip shop chips - whilst I love Belgian fries and these were decent examples of the genre I really came for proper seaside chippy chips so was disappointed. Oh how I miss The Vegetarian Chippy in Birmingham which was actually fully vegan and completely nailed fishy fish and chippy chips - this place was nothing on them.
Read moreMain and chips and a 200ml carton of drink each was over thirty quid, which is vegan tax though not excessively so. Salt and vinegar came in proper huge chip shop dispensers, but if you wanted any dressings such as tartare sauce it's almost two quid more.
I enjoyed the novelty of it but I've had better and for the price I wouldn't go again.
Pros: Saveloy excellent, Goujons excellent
Cons: Not real British chip shop chips, Seems menu has recently reduced
