Bland and expensive

We had a reservation and still had to wait 15 minutes, everything is expensive and bland. We tried 4 different dishes. The beets were good but just tasted like beets, I could not taste the toppings. The empanadas were greasy and the aioli was flavorless. The dill cocktail I got was only garnished with dill. I would not go back here.

Pros: Atmosphere, Concept, Farm to table freshness

Cons: Price, Bland

3.5, but hoping for 4 next time

I had really high expectations for The Laurel, given its affiliation with Millwrights. I hate to admit, I was a bit underwhelmed. I absolutely love how well they cater to vegans and I will definitely try again to see if maybe I went during an off day. The tofu was an incredible dish! However Artichoke Cerviche was acidic and a tad unbalanced. The sweet potato chips saved this dish. The mushroom was delicious but there was an overly sweet sundried tomato jam on top, that I think overpowered the delightfulness of the mushrooms. Parking is available in the rear of the restaurant. Not a nit on the restaurant, but would recommend you order still or sparkling water as the tap is very chlorinated. I would definitely recommend here or Fire and Forge for vegan finer dining options in the Hartford area.

Pros: Very vegan friendly!

Cons: Still new-needs to dial in on dishes

Globally Inspired VGlobally Inspired Vegan Small Plates

Small plates restaurant that makes a real effort to cater to vegans—about a third of the menu options were vegan-friendly. Every dish I tried was great; I especially liked the trumpet mushroom with mole poblano sauce. Don't miss the chocolate mousse! Reservations are a must.

Pros: Enthusiastic, attentive service, Fast kitchen turnaround, Good bar

Cons: Parking lot fills up, but bus station nearby , High noise level
