Poor breakfast options - Edit
Very poor vegan breakfast options. Only option was a coconut yoghurt with granola and maybe 5 raspberries. Tasted nice but was a very small portion. Obviously shop bought vegan yogurt. I did not feel that it was good value.
Read moreAnother vegan diner was offered an adapted veggie fry but many of the ingredients were not vegan and they were unable to clarify how it would be adapted. They said we could not have any bread/toast with it as none of the three loaves were vegan. Clearly this would be a very disappointing and unfilling fry. I asked the staff to go back 3 separate times to clarify the bread situation with the chef. Eventually they confirmed that the sourdough is in fact vegan they just didn't have the recipe to hand.
The diner in question ordered a custom fry. Presented poorly. Everything on small side dishes and then given a tiny side plate to eat it off. The portions were confusing. Generous with the avocado but stingy with the mushrooms and toast. Maybe the portions would seem normal if there were eggs or meat on the plate.
I understand the dinner menu has vegan options. I asked the virtual assistant on the website beforehand if they cater for vegans for breakfast and it confirmed they did indeed have options. Very disappointing experience. Wish we hadn't of went as it was not worth the money.
It's irritating when a business does not offer vegan options consistently across menus. If you have vegan dinner options then have a half decent vegan breakfast, vegan dessert etc. It isn't that hard.
Pros: Decor
Cons: Lack of vegan options, Poor value for money, Left feeling very hungry

The Ivy is always good - Edit
The Belfast location of my go-to UK chain didn’t disappoint. Located across the street from city hall, the restaurant has a separate veg menu. It’s a beautiful room with attentive service.
