The original plan was noodles in the hotel room! - Edit
We visited Helensburgh to see the Hill House and with a lateish finish, decided to stay overnight.
Read moreIt's a nice town but lacking in vegan options. Lots of independent restaurants with lots of labelled vegetarian options but no vegan options in any of the places we looked at, most of which were around the waterfront. We'd given up and gone to Tesco for some Wicked Kitchen 'just add hot water' options, when we spotted the Spoons.
It was busy but welcoming and had the full vegan menu available. I don't know how often it's ordered but we were grateful to get a hot meal with some veggies and to know it was vegan.
As usual with spoons, its basic but decent. We popped back for breakfast as it's near the train station and bus stops, which was also good.
We like to support local businesses but when options are limited, it's a relief to find somewhere to eat and ward off the hangry!
Pros: A safe bet in a town with few options
