The BEST

Everytime I have a cake from this cake I am blown away. They are just delicious and I can't stop eating. Last one I had was a wedding wake, black forest flavor, and it was one of the best cake I have ever had

Amazing vegan bakery

Such a cute little takeaway bakery. Big selection of vegan and non-vegan bakery items. Loads of diversity. Brownies, cupcakes, pies, gingersnaps, parfaits- you name it. I even got my full sized birthday cake here.
Just make sure you check their hours before you go because they close kind of early.
*i would give a 5 star rating but the app won’t allow that if it’s not fully vegan

Pros: Vegan options clearly marked , Lots of flavours, Friendly staff

Lots of vegan desserts

I appreciate how many options they have. As for the quality, the food is really good, but the cupcakes are mediocre. They have a bit of a baking soda flavour and I often notice they’ve collapsed a bit in the middle. The recipe needs a bit of tweaking but otherwise good to satisfy vegan baking cravings.

Pros: Lots of options, Lots of Desserts , Friendly staff

Cons: Baking soda aftertaste in sweets, No seating, only take away

Excellent vegan and gluten free options

This place is great! They have tons of vegan stuff, all well labeled and the staff is friendly and helpful.

I didn't love all the things I tried but mostly I did. The her bed bread is to die for! The bean bread I liked the texture but I think it had corn in it and a lot of it. All I could taste was corn.

Had a berry crumble that was amazing. The cupcakes are OK. The frosting is a bit salty imo.

The muffin loaves are decent the apple spice one was a bit dry on its own but blueberry and carrot were moist.

Pros: Super friendly , Vegan labeled , All gluten free

Cons: Wish had ingredient list

Drool-worthy Desserts

Griffin has a wide range of tasty vegan offering but their ginger cookies and their brownies, in particular, are amazing. The salted peanut brownie is perfection; it is rich and fudgy like a brownie should be (not loose and cake-y) and the salt marries perfectly with the sweetness of the brownie. I cannot recommend these highly enough.

I came for the brownie... And it brought me back again

Cozy space, parking behind the building usually has free spaces, vegan options. Delicious salted caramel brownie, I came back for it twice and also tried a vegan ginger and apple danish which was better than I expected since I'm not a big fan of ginger

Tasty Vegan Treats

I used to love this place, but it has gone downhill. They have a lot of options, but the desserts are not very tasty anymore. Artificial flavors and too much of a reliance on sugar. Hope they can turn it around.

Pros: Lots of options

Vegan comfort food!

I love their baking! Hubby ordered me a birthday cake for my 50th it was so yummy, he also brought home ginger snaps and brownies... Great way to start a new decade! I had tomato soup and a vegan BLT and it was amazing and huge!

Pros: They have vegan options labeled., Service, Fast

Great vegan bakery options

It’s not beside Jysk anymore, but it’s worth tracking down for the baked goods. The place is mostly (but not fully) vegetarian and has solid vegan lunch or grab and go options. But it’s the vegan baked goods where they really shine. The cupcakes and brownies are spot on. Honestly I’ve been very impressed with every sweet treat I have tried (and I’ve probably run the menu by now). Sandwiches are good, but don’t go anywhere else if you are looking for cupcakes or similar treats. They’ll do custom cakes and such as well. My Mom has a vegan gluten-free cake made, and all the omnis and gluten lovers were impressed too.

Quite a few vegan desserts

I haven't eaten savoury foods here, but I have had the vegan desserts many times. They are pretty tasty, though I have let them no (with no response and no discernible action taken) that I find the desserts sickeningly sweet. The items are fairly consistent and include whoopee pies, nanaimo bars (mint and mocha), and cookies.

Good Grab and Go

This place is not vegetarian, last time I was there they had a pulled pork sandwich and a chicken salad sandwich. The options they do have are all good, but I know that the food sometimes comes into contact with animal products and have been given a meat sandwich by accident once, and have found pork on my bread with other sandwiches in the past.
I have tried updating the information on Happy Cow, however, for some reason, the place remains listed as being vegetarian. It is not.

Great place for vegan sweets

I often come the The Griffin Takeaway for vegan brownies, whoopie pies, fudge, haystacks, and ginger cookies. They have a wide selection of tasty vegan baking, and you can even order vegan cakes for your special occasions. They can make a custom vegan cake for you within a few days notice! They also have vegan bread, soups, and sandwiches for lunch. I would recommend this place for vegan treats.

Pros: Good price, Many vegan options, Quick lunch

The Griffin Takeaway

Delicious! Every Vegan option on the menu is worth trying and can be made Gluten free as well! I have no food allergens so I've tried about everything on the Vegan Menu several times! This is my favourite place to grab a bite in Saskatoon! The African Peanut Soup is a must if its on rotation, and the Cashew Quinoa Salad always hits the spot! Saskatoon is becoming fairly Vegan friendly, I don't have much trouble eating out at all, but so far this is the only place with a wide array of Deserts and I love me some sweets!
The staff are great and often remember you once you've been in a couple times, and really make you feel valued as a customer!

Pros: Delicious affordable on the go food, Vegan Desert Options, Great customer service

Cons: No tables-Take out only

Outstanding: run don't walk here!

I'll try most any place that advertises vegan offerings, especially in a small city like Saskatoon where there are few options. I love baked goods, and this place is the real deal. I have oodles of disappointing cakes, squares, etc., all over the world, but the salt water caramel brownie I had at the Griffin is easily the best vegan baked good I've had in my extensive travels in Europe, Canada, and the US. I tried the strawberry crisp, which also was nice. My one regret is that I didn't try more things out--that'll have to wait until the next time I'm in Saskatoon. They had some great looking puddings and cookies in their display case as well, and all the vegan offerings were well marked.

These guys are the real deal, and they were super friendly when I went in there as well, which is a nice bonus. The location is rather nondescript, but don't be put off by that. My one complaint is that the name is not descriptive enough: you really can't tell what it is by its name. That might keep people away.

(ps, this isn't my first review on Happycow, but I somehow forgot my login...)

Pros: Delicious, Friendly

Cons: Their name
