When you’re not sure what you want - Edit
We went here for the first time, today and had a great time. The restaurant has a great variety of options, from diner sandwiches, brunch food, pizzas, and Mexican food, they even have a new Oaxacan supplemental menu. I had the wet burrito and the Cappuccino Italiano. The burrito was filling and delicious (I had the chicken), and the cappuccino was outstanding! I had to ask what milk alternative was used and i was surprised that it was almond milk.

Nice place for vegan food - Edit
Me and my friends had really good dishes: Enchiladas and Reuben Sandwich. The desserts were also really good. The staff was friendly, and the environment comfortable and quiet.

Great Vegan Breakfast - Edit
Came here 2 days in a row on our trip to Long Beach - lovely selection of organic, flavorful, and creative breakfast items. They make their own hot sauce which is amazing!! Kind and friendly service.
Read moreMy only small criticism is that the restroom situation here is a little odd in terms of its location - I felt like I was walking through an employee area/ dish wash room to use the restroom.
Pros: Lots of Organic!

OK vegan in Long Beach - Edit
We had an just ok meal here. The extensive menu sounded great and it was hard to choose. The Pizza was overcooked and dry. The Patty Crepe looked great but was bland. The Tofu scramble was good. Even the vegan cake was only fair. Wanted to show more love but didn't really dig it ... we did spend 2 weeks in Greater LA eating exclusively at vegan places so maybe we were just spoiled.

My favorite vegan restaurant - Edit
My favorites are the Wet Burrito with the burger patty and you can do half red and green sauce! My mom and I always get three dishes to split between the two of us because we can never choose just one thing. The Strawberry Almond cake is incredible and I fantasize about it constantly lol

Just okay - Edit
The food here is okay. A lot of the food has little to no seasoning and just lacks in flavor. The stars I gave are for the service because the girl who waited on us was so sweet, and everyone seemed very friendly! I hate to give a fully vegan place a bad review, but my boyfriend and I were both sadly very disappointed with our food.

Huge vegan menu - Edit
This place made me want to move to LB. We came here almost every weekend for brunch and the only issue we ever had here is that they don't offer their hot sauce via IV. I love their crepes and their chai latte, their tofu scrambles are fantastic. My husband loves their waffles but cautions you to beware of the serious itis that will follow. They also have a tasty selection of desserts. And Emely is a fantastic waitress.

Meh - Edit
So this place has potential. Very friendly staff! The food was not so good. It came out super fast and just tasted cheap. Lots of different options though from pizza, nachos, to crepes. I had the nachos and enchiladas. They both kinda lacked flavor. I tried to get a crepe for dessert because maybe the breakfast was good! Tried to give it a chance but it was very doughy.

Amazing food, super friendly service! - Edit
I had the Chilaquiles and my wife had the Reuben... both were absolutely phenomenal! The marinated tempeh on the Reuben was a total standout, but the chilaquiles were great as well w/ a really nice silken tofu sour cream. We’re going to be back very soon!!

Best vegan pancakes - Edit
Hands down the best vegan breakfast food I’ve ever had. I always get the pancakes, but I have tried the waffles and breakfast burritos as well and they are also excellent. Huge menu with breakfast served all day! I always mean to go in and try their dinner food but I cant help but get pancakes instead every time! Friendly servers and nice, relaxing atmosphere. They also always have freshly baked cakes and a great espresso drink selection.

Open All Day - Edit
One of the best things about The Grain Cafe is that it's open from early in the morning until late in the evening. In addition, breakfast is served all day; if you're in the mood for a scramble or a breakfast burrito at 3:00 in the afternoon, it's available! The ingredients are all organic and everything is made to order. Custom juices are available. A chalkboard lists all of the fresh ingredients available and each customer chooses up to four ingredients to create a custom juice blend (the price is the same no matter what is chosen). There inventive uses of tempeh are a standout as well. Seating is limited as is parking on the street (no lot).
