Great NIght Out

was pleasantly surprised to see the number of vegan options available on the blackboard menu. Was also pleased to see that they offered organic/gluten free beer and organic/vegan wine. The food choices for my non vegans family members was also extensive. When we got the food it was delicious and served by helpful friendly staff.
I feel I would have visited this pub a lot earlier if I had known that the blackboard menu (not published online) had so many vegan options. Anyway a great night out enjoyed by all, we will return.

Pros: great food, great vegan food, organic options - wine/beer

Cons: only a few vegan options mentioned in online menu

Vegan Christmas Time

There was a separate “Vegetarian and Vegan Christmas Menu” with loads of options for vegans- you had to fill out an order form and denote you’re vegan as well as put the things you want. It was amazing to arrive to a bread basket that contained vegan bread rolls and be provided with a seperate personal pot of soya butter (this was seperate from the dairy butter for the rest of the table- I was the only vegan)! My starter was tempura veg which was average but crispy and hearty, my main was nut roast and OMG it was incredible their roast potatoes are the bomb.com, dessert was vegan lavender cheesecake very strong of lavender like pillow spray but had amazing texture and it grew on you- the best part was that after the meal there was complimentary mince pies and cream, I was shocked when I was provided with a vegan friendly mince pie seperate from the rest and my own mini jug of vegan soya cream! Usually places don’t bother to veganise the complimentary extras like chocolates, mince pies, biscuits etc. but Golden Heart did and I’m very thankful for that it added to the experience and ambiance of the night and made me feel normal for once haha! Staff were also super kind and I have no idea what the dog thing the previous reviewer was on about is- there were no dogs and tbh I wouldn’t care if there was, I’m vegan I love animals that’s the whole point!

excellent for vegans

Seperate vegan menu, lovely food, must try. Would be 5 stars but happy cow doesn't allow 5 stars for places that also do meat.

beware of dogs

this inn has a dog in it that is not potty-trained . . . pretty gross experience since it happened right before we got our food. Then the girl who cleaned up the mess was the one who served our food.

Pros: lots of veggie options

Cons: dogs, unhygenic, darkly lit
