Żabka

This was an absolute one-off. It’s not the kind of place we’d choose to frequent but it worked well logistically on the day. Port side out starboard home is the general ambience here. The smoked aubergine caviar with croutons was decent. Main courses were more like side dishes. At £11 a pop you’d expect more. The vegetable ratatouille presented in an egg plant was enjoyable. We also had a rich tasting stuffed pepper from the specials menu. Just as well we also got some chunky pommes frites to add some boost. A good place to chalk off the Newcastle Happy Cow scene which is now becoming ever increasingly saturated with unfiltered vegan friendly places.

Pros: Nice interior , Vegan labelled items

Cons: Pricey

Excellent Vegan Options

Lots of vegan options (and vegetarian too). Two of us shared a range of dishes and didn't order all the vegan stuff. Everything was excellent. There was even a choice of vegan deserts!

Surprisingly good for vegetarians

I’m normally suspicious of French restaurants. They are often not just indifferent but actually hostile to vegetarians. Not this one. You get treated just like other diners: you have choices and your dishes are prepared with the same care as the rest of the menu. The staff are fabulous - polite, helpful, friendly, efficient.

Pros: Options , Staff friendliness, Atmosphere

Friday Lunch

Pleasant railway arch restaurant. Food is presented in really manageable portions so you can have as little or as much as you want. Vast wine menu too, with a few tasting selections.

Pros: Enough vegan options to keep one interested.
