Great Venue, Awesome Food - Edit
Our go to place in Glasgow. The Big Mac is out of this world. It's usually nice and quiet in the day, so if you want somewhere chill, it's a nice place to go. Also runs some great evening events. The milkshakes are also incredible!

Garlic Aioli for dayz - Edit
Ate here in the middle of the day a few years back. I was one of the only people there, which is fair enough. Seems more like a night time vibe. I had a burger and chips, and the stand out component was definitely the aioli. Hope to go back and try some other things as well!

Nice vegan comfort/junk food - Edit
I've been the Flying Duck a couple of times over the years, and they're unashamed in offering junk food in big portions. Most recently I chose their Big Mac offering, which was tasty and certainly tastes like the famous burger, but it was very difficult to finish for me as the burgers themselves were quite dense. Even cutting the one patty lengthwise might have been more than enough. Obviously something emulating a McDonald's burger isn't for everyone, so fortunately they also have things like mac and cheese and other burgers. Nice vibe to the place but unfortunately it's inaccessible to those with mobility difficulties.

Delicious! - Edit
We had the shrimp and chorizo burger, and the colonel chipotle, and had half each. Both so good! Amazingly realistic shrimp!

Our go to place for food in Glasgow - Edit
Always excellent for a quick dirty burger. Our go to place for vegan snacks in Glasgow. Portions are huge, food delicious and beer cold. The ‘Le Big Mac’ is big and tasty. Cheese burger fries are a meal in itself.

Tasty comfort food - Edit
Good mac and cheese, flavour was perfect. Nachos were OK but no guacamole which seemed like a miss. Shrimp burrito was hefty!

Super solid - Edit
Solid comfort food. Got the burrito and they let me smash two versions together. The Mac and cheese is creamy and delish.

Just ok. - Edit
The food was ok, not amazing but it was fine. For some drinks and food with friends before a nightout I feel like it might be a nice place, but as a solo traveller I felt really out of place, and the guy behind the bar wasn't friendly or polite at all. I personally wouldn't go back.

Vegan comfort food - Edit
Really nice menu with tasty offerings. Sad to see they no longer do hot dogs so be nice to see them back in the future. Some great drinks offers too. Would like to see this place made to be accessible. I have trouble with stairs so it was difficult but I couldn't see any way for a wheelchair user to come here.

Grunge is good - Edit
We’re probably a little older than most of the others in this downstairs bar, but it’s good to go somewhere different. Good selection of drinks behind the bar, friendly staff & quick service. Sadly they weren’t doing dirty fries this evening so had Beany nachos, OH had macaroni cheese with garlic toast. There was live music in the other room, and all the tables seemed busy

Great final dinner this Glasgow visit! - Edit
On my final night of a short visit to Glasgow, I joined a Vegan Events Scotland meetup group for dinner and drinks at Flying Duck -- and was so glad I did! My Donor Kebab was awesome -- as was my pint of Guinness.😄Loved the neon-lit sign out front (made for a great night photo), and the animal rights mural on the wall of the stairway to the restaurant. I really liked the fact that everyone orders and pays at the bar before the meal - no awkward waiting to figure out who and how to pay at the end. It was a bit noisy and at times hard to hear my tablemates' conversation - but that was all part of the dive bar vibe.

Good for burgers - Edit
We've been to the Flying Duck several times (and would have been more often, but were sometimes unlucky because the kitchen was closed, or once it was closed entirely), and we have always had the burgers, which are very good. They also do a burger & beer offer.
Read moreAfter I had read that the macurrito was so unbelievably good, I wanted to go for it, but they have changed their menu now and the macurrito is not on it any longer (just some macaroni as small plates, which is obviously not the same. I just checked the onlien menu again and see, this is gone now, too: the menu is different again).
The atmopshere is relaxed and casual, it is quite dark, and it can also be quite cold. They have quiz nights on Mondays and other events, so check their website before you go.
Pros: Good burgers
Cons: The stairs (don't get too drunk!), can be cold
