Best Vegan Place in Dublin by a mile - Edit
My first visit to The Electric Vegan has just taken place, it will not be my last. (It was my last as for some unknown reason the Amazing Electric Vegan has ceased trading). A sad day for Dublin Vegans.
Read moreSmall place with about 5 tables seating about 30 I'd guess. just perfect (double that in Summer with Terrace)
What amazing food, I had the Falafel and Squash Fries. I have had a lot of Falafel in my life but none has tasted as good as this and I've travelled far and wide. It was so good I had a second one.
The Secret to the quality and taste? Get into a conversation with the owner and be blown away with his knowledge,
the conversation with the owner (did not get his name) is as good as the food.
This is not your average Vegan place.
All local produce.
Food is not only local and seasonal but none of it is farmed.
NO FARM FOOD ALLOWED, amazing.
So all food comes naturally NOT from a farm so nothing like carrots, celery or any other "planted" vegetable or items like that as they do not grow in natural surroundings, nothing that needs planting and caring for. I think the difference in the taste says it all.
Love and Passion are flowing from the food creations coming from the kitchen., wonderful stuff.
We only went in for a sandwich but was there for 2.5 hours and we were so impressed we're off for brunch tomorrow as we hear the Vegan omelette is to die for.
Owner says, serving coffee was a must as customers insist but he would not serve if given choice. COFFEE IS EXCELLENT. I forgot to ask which milk it was made from. The sweetener given was Agave ( natural plant sweetener)
We cycled 15 minutes in freezing cold each way but was worth it for the food alone, the knowledge the owner pours out non-stop I'd cycle a lot further for.
SUNDAY 28th
Went to try their brunch, we had the breakfast and omelette both dishes were excellent and we cleaned our plates.
The coffee is made from oat Milk and tastes wonderful.
They have gone to great effort to have each product picture perfect and the taste proves it.
I read last night they have been voted "BEST VEGAN BURGER IN DUBLIN" after just 3 months in business but they have not gotten around yet to even telling customers about it as they were too busy making the food great.

Organic and Tasty - Edit
I would say is the best vegan place in Dublin when it comes to yummy vegan options. I have been to EV a couple of times and the only negative aspect is the ambience experience, there was a time I was there and the music was way too loud, and there was a time there was no music at all and I had to whisper to talk to my friends and not be listened by the staff, and there was time I felt not well welcomed as I was the only customer and when I arrived felt like I was interrupting something. The whole atmosphere for the customer could be a lot improved, I was not the only one to leave the place is the same experience, but the food and taste-wise is just amazing! Their raw deserts are yummy and decent price.

Like others have mentioned, here you get really good traditional meals veganized. I had a lasagna with salad which was really nice.

Disappointing - Edit
Food was dry, burnt and tasted like paper. We tried the Irish breakfast and were excited to taste it but were so disappointed by the quality and lack of passion for the food. We felt sick afterwards. I expected more from a 100% vegan place. Would not recommend it.

Just like going to a normal cafe except it's vegan and everything is done with great thought and consideration (eg 100% recycled paper serviettes). Friendly service. Nice vibe to the place. light and airy.

wonderful homemade vegan food - Edit
I stopped here my first night in Dublin for what has been one my favorite meals during a week in the UK! I had the Irish breakfast (for dinner) with a toffee pudding cupcake. It was fun to have “Irish” foods veganized. I hope I can make it back again for the homemade food and friendly service

Underwhelming - Edit
Tried the pasta salad and the mango tart, was dissapointed. The tart was rock hard, the pasta salad tasted like nothing. Will not revisit.

You got to be joking, You give Thunder Road Burger Joint higher stars than Electric Vegan. Real vegans would never enter such a placed where dead animals are cooked.

Well... - Edit
I read so many good reviews and was so highly disappointed... Food was fine, I've got special burger, which was not that great nor special unfortunately, but the staff... Waitress was terrible, wasn't able to get my order correctly and I could hear discussion from the kitchen that they were missing some of the ingredients for my burger so they made it smaller (I wouldn't see a difference guys, but you told me?). but that was still the best experience with vegan food in Dublin, so I gave them 3⭐

Great addition to vegan Dublin - Edit
Great couple of visits to The Electric Vegan. The food is nice and the venue cosy and in a good location. I got the omelette which was great, I would like to see maybe butter or olive oil given with bread by default. Pancakes are good but very minimal, I'd happily pay a little more for maybe yoghurt and berries or similar.

Fabulous falafel sandwiches - Edit
A bit pricy, but well worth it. The lunch special (soup and falafel sandwich) is delicious and good value. I wouldn’t trek all the way out here just for it, but a convenient and very tasty spot if you’re in the neighborhood!

Not worth going out of the way for - Edit
Unfortunately our experience was not good. We arrived at 12ish and it was too early for lunch so we ordered the full vegan breakfast, it constituted 1 small sausage sliced lengthways, a 'white pudding' slice, one small slice of white bread cut in half, not quite half a cold portobello mushroom, a spoonful of undercooked chickpeas in an odd sweet sauce, a piece of gram flour omlette with a slice of tomato on top. Except for the omlette and the slice of tomato, the food was cold and unpleasant, the staff were too busy smoking outside to care. The mock sausage and pudding were just odd and clearly cooked for a very long time. It was overpriced at over 10 euro each, the portions were small and my partner left hungry. We paid and left.

Hi Ciara, I’m really sorry you weren’t satisfied with the breakfast, if it was cold when served to you it would have been more beneficial and constructive for us and you if you could have reported it to a member of staff straightaway and we could have given you another breakfast. We have a terrace area outside where customers eating outside can smoke, and our staff can also use that area during their break to eat or smoke if they wish to but a member of staff was inside and available at all times if you had wished to make your complaint known. Again I’m sorry and I hope since we’re only just up and running and getting on our feet you won’t let that bad experience stop you from coming back, we’re taking all feedback on board and trying to improve as we go
