Excellent food, great atmosphere - Edit
I loved the separate vegan menu at this restaurant. The options were thoughtful and made by a chef who clearly is very passionate about his food being loved by all who eats it.
Read moreI really appreciated that the vegan options were creative and made using whole foods and vegetables. No beyond burgers and pulled bbq jackfruit on this menu and that is a very good thing in my opinion! I had a courgette & ragu gratin for a starter, leek and mushroom shepherds pie with a herb sauce for main and coconut rice pudding with an apricot compote for dessert. All of which were the most exceptional tasting, well crafted plates I’ve had on any vegan menu for some time. The attention to detail was spot on, the textures were great with crunch in all the right places.
Something that is starting to stand out and is increasingly becoming valuable to me are restaurants that have solid plant based options but also make fantastic traditional food, likely as their point of primary custom. It’s great to see traditional restaurants make something special for their non-typical customer when already well established with great choices for those who eat meat. This means when I can I eat well as a vegan and then parents can eat something they love as well. This is important to my partner and I because this creates the opportunity for us to enjoy a delicious dining experience with her parents without our differences of eating preferences being an issue or point of compromise at all. The wine selection at this restaurant was thorough and impressive. Defo a really good spot if you are up for some delicious vegan food but want to impress/satisfy non-vegan company with some quality traditional (non vegan) food.
I had the chance to meet the chef. His passion was instantly apparent and both our server and the chef were very friendly people who offered us insightful conversation as well as a warm atmosphere in their cosy restaurant.
Pros: Separate vegan menu, Great price to quality ratio, Something for everyone
