chips were good, slightly confused about the reviews stating the batter is vegan as i asked and they said it has milk in it, and to get the unbattered sausage if i was vegan. worth checking when you go. sausages were stodge but thats a fish n chips classic. went with a meat eater, we asked for a medium chips to share and they put the fish on top of the chips 🫠 but i forgive them

Battered sausage and chips - Edit
We had a large portion of battered vegan sausage (comes with 2 sausages) and a small portion of chips each, which was a lot of food. The sausages were really good and reminiscent of pre-vegan days. We paid £16 in all, which also included a beer and soft drink. There are plenty of benches and a grassy area along the esplanade (just opposite and along a bit) to enjoy your food. Staff did advise sausages are cooked in the same fryer as the fish etc, so worth noting if cross contamination is an issue.

Chips were very good, vegan battered sausages were exactly what you’d want them to be and all for a reasonable price.

Great options, greasy goodness - Edit
Lots of vegan things including nugs and sausages. They can batter anything, including sausages, but keep in mind it’s fried in the same oil as the fish, still vegan by recipe.

Nice chips for a pound, plus a choice of vegan options like Quorn nuggets, burgers and even vegan apple pie.

Not suitable for Vegetarians - Edit
Went for a Vegetarian battered sausage. All made fresh in front of you. However, the customer before me ordered battered fish and a battered mars bar. Both dipped in the batter before frying. Then my vegan sausage went in the same batter they had had the raw fish in before frying. The chips were dry and appeared frozen chips rather than fresh cut. The vegan sausage itself was ok, the process in which its battered just needs tweaking to avoid raw fish contamination.

Not safe enough provisions to keep things seperate. - Edit
Chips are delicious but I would careful ordering anything else. They cook things like scampi in the same fryer as mushrooms, so my friend bit into scampi and she's servery allergic not to mention that if you're a vegetarian or vegan you could eat meat or fish. They said it was a simple mistake but apparently it happens often.

Surpringly good vegan options! - Edit
I was shocked to find that this long running classic fish and chip shop has an array of vegan options - all clearly marked on the menu! I tried the battered sausage and some veggie nuggets which were great!
