Love cake and all vegan- update no longer all vegan - Edit
It was love that all the cake was vegan. I love cake but used to not having any choice. Three of us had cake all different and all loved it. Looking forward to coming back and trying a savory snack.

Small, cosy, friendly gem of a cafe - Edit
We found the cafe by chance and are very pleased we did. On a walk through the Peaks we were on the lookout for somewhere offering Vegan treats, plus we also needed gluten free options. The Chakra Lounge offered us both. The staff were really welcoming, the food was delicious, the coffee was tasty, overall I would highly recommend and we will definitely visit again.

Too much mayonnaise - Edit
I tried the vegan bowl because it sounded interesting but I ended up finding it a little difficult to stomach. I expected the tandorinnaise to be a small component but it absolutely smothered the sausage pieces and rice. It was quite tasty but it was just too much when there was also coleslaw. I've read other reviews saying the sausages are spicy and yet to me, they were very underseasoned and not spicy at all. The tortilla chips were an odd addition. Though initially skeptical about the inclusion of berries, these were actually very nice and fresh (the slight overlap with the mayonnaise was a bit disconcerting though). The samosa was also a bit disappointing and stodgy. I'm giving them points for being inventive but I just don't think it worked coherently as a dish. I also had a masala chai which was quite tasty and pretty but at the expense of having to have a load of tasteless petals in my mouth.
Read moreThe actual cafe and staff are lovely so I don't necessarily want to put people off going, just warning you to maybe avoid this odd vegan bowl construction.
Pros: Something a bit different in Bakewell, Staff were friendly , Very pretty cafe
Cons: Charge extra for alternative milk/decaf, Not the best outdoor seating location

Fresh Indian fusion food - Edit
All vegetarian/vegan dishes. Seem to remember the Buxton cafe having more options compared to the Bakewell one. Really fresh food which is carefully put together. Decent portion sizes. Staff are really smiley and friendly.

Yummy vegan options - Edit
Yummy vegan options, shame that the cafe is no longer vegan. The staff are lovely, and the entire cafe is dog-friendly. Bear in mind that the food is quite spicy! Would recommend.

The Aesthetic in Chakra Lounge is great, for that alone you could stay all day! My good was delicious but the rice bowl far to spicy, which I wish was noted on the menu.

Indian/western fusion cafe - Edit
This is a lovely spot in the centre of Bakewell with a predominantly vegetarian and vegan menu so there's loads to choose from. We tried the vegan mix bowl and the chickpea curry which were both really good and beautifully presented. Lots of vegan drink options (milkshakes, smoothies etc) and vegan cakes on the counter too.

The best cakes and delicious lunch - Edit
We went in for an early lunch, I had the currywurst and my husband had the kofta bagel burger and both were great. The only small detail I felt is that the side salad on the burger was completely undressed. Friendly staff, who I noticed were so great with dogs. I had a chocolate pistachio almond torte and my husband had the marzipan cherry cake, they were both amazing. I wish I’d had room for a shake too!

Great food and lovely atmosphere - Edit
Chakra lounge is right in the centre of Bakewell so is easy to find!
Read moreAlthough it’s a vegetarian cafe, there are many vegan options. The food is a fusion of indo-western and really excited me when I read the menu.
I got the Bombay nachos which were filled with goodness and my boyfriend got then curry wurst. The hotdog in the curry wurst was a great texture and really flavoursome which worked well with the curry on top!
I loved the atmosphere and vibe of the chakra lounge, the interior was really cool and I enjoyed the playlist playing inside.
The staff were also so lovely, very helpful and friendly!
Pros: Lots of vegan options, Great atmosphere, Lovely staff

Delightful find - Edit
In a town with limited options, this is such a welcome find. The menu was 50:50 vegan to vegetarian. There were plenty of options so I was able to make a choice of what I wanted to eat rather than eating the only options.

Delicious and good range of options plus vegan cakes! - Edit
Such a nice cafe in the town centre . A good range of options from small plates (toasties, bagels) to bigger options (vegan koftas, vegan bbq jackfruit), plus vegan cakes and a big list of hot and iced drinks. Veggie as well as vegan options, but plenty of both. Lots of seating upstairs too so even if it looks busy give it a try. The matcha pistachio latte with oat milk was amazing, as was the avocado on toast, almond chocolate torte and chai latte complete with rose petal sprinkles. Friendly staff too.

In a town of dull touristy cafes offering the same old this is a long awaited welcomed addition. Lovely place to be in, spacious and upstairs is fab too. Book weekends and Monday market day. I loved the food here! I got the chatpatte cholle nachos. I’ve never had anything like it. It was like nachos, but with Indian flavors. Spicy, in a good way, with perfect flavor combinations. I also ordered a flapjack for the next morning’s breakfast, which was delicious!
