Incredible, authentic, vegan Chinese

This place is so incredibly good! Two friends and I all loved the dishes we ordered and shared: Mini Frühlingsrollen (MIni springrolls), Gebackene vegane Ente (Deep fried vegan duck), Gebratener vegane Schweinebauch (Freid vegan pork belly), Süßkartoffelnudelsalat (Warm sweet potatoes salad), and Chrsamtheme Tee. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is relaxing. Lots of choices on the menu, and since what we had was so good, it's probably all worth exploring.

Pros: incredibly good, authentic Chinese food, friendly staff, nice setting

Really enjoyed it!

Very cozy outdoor seating in their patio and friendly staff.

The food came super quick and I enjoyed the meal. My dry sichuan chicken was really Nicely presented, but in the end a bit too dry for my taste and lacking veggies in the dish. (But I guess that's how it's supposed to be) The tofu pot Sichuan style was our favorite and really flavorful and spicy. Staff will also give you recommendations and can adapt the spicyness level to your taste.

Pros: Nice patio, Broad menu

The Butterfly Lovers

I tried the mapo tofu and a couple other dishes, and while everything was decent, none of the flavors really stood out. It was a little bit of a letdown because it seemed like such a nice place. I did like the ambiance at night and the service.

Kitchen closes at 3 (at the latest) for lunch

I endured some heavy rain before finally finding this place. To my amazement, they told me they close at 3 PM, despite that not being indicated anywhere.. and it wasn't even 3 PM yet! Since I was about to embark on a 15-hour-long train journey, I begged, pleaded and implored, but was met with zero flexibility. To be fair, the waitress actually was apologetic, but the chef, who probably made the decision, was busy having a smoke outside, and throwing the [censored] on the ground. While common in Berlin, I would like to think we ought to hold vegan restaurants to a higher standard.. both in terms of empathy/flexibility and civility.

surprisingly amazing

I've never been a big fun of Chinese restaurants (Chinese home made food is way better, at least in my experience) but we decided to give a try to this vegan alternative. To our surprise it was very good. The menu has many spicy dishes, but you can ask them to tame the strength. There are also non-spicy ones to choose from. Spring rolls and sweet sour sauce were delicious. The chicken tofu was very crispy and tasty. The duck was yummy besides the overly salty veggie that it came with. And the dessert was interesting and very tasty too. It is a must visit even for those who, like me, aren't fun of fast food type Chinese restaurants.

Pros: Tasty food, nice staff, pleasant atmosphere and nice bathroom

Magnificent

Really authentic flavours, so hard to find vegan Chinese food which captures the full range of tastes. Great staff, enormous choice to experiment with ‘ungedeutscht’ (westernised) Chinese food. Selection of vegetable and plant based ersatz meat dishes.

Pros: A whole menu section for eggplants 😍, So much too choose from, The cold dishes!

Cons: They serve a bit quickly , Suggest you order entree, eat, then order mains

Really good vegan chinese food!

There's nothing to criticize really. I especially loved the vegan duck and the vegan "pork belly meat" my friend had. Attentive service too :)

Vegan Chinese

I went here for dinner with a friend. We did not have a reservation but were able to get a table in the nearly full, medium-sized restaurant.

The interior design was modern and minimalistic. The tables and stools were wooden-brown and the walls and ceiling were white. There was some stylish, Asia-inspired decoration here and there. The light was white and pretty bright.

In the menu there was a lot to choose from. There were warm starters, cold starters, soups, main dishes without fake meat, main dishes with fake meat and desserts. I had vegan duck on a bed of vegetables with a sweet and sour sauce and rice for 13,90€. It looked a bit uninspiring but tasted great.

I had a good time at The Butterfly Lovers and would not mind going back.

Wow.

The appetizers (morel salad—but fairly certain they were actually wood ear mushrooms—and smoked tofu) were absolutely perfect.

The main dishes (mapo tofu and fried lotus root) were less thrilling on their own but excellent when mixed together and drizzled with the peanut sauce from the smoked tofu appetizer. This restaurant has an interesting and wide variety of options for a reasonable price, and they actually make their food spicy—a rarity in Germany.

Chinesische Küche in ruhiger Oase

Vegan Chinese food!

The lunch menues are worth the money (starter and main course for about €12). We had the gongbao chicken and the pork belly. Pork belly was sooo realistic and very good!

Flavourful (and filling) food

I was super excited to find a vegan Chinese restaurant in Berlin.

We were able to sit outside, as the restaurant is in a dead-end road there's not a lot of traffic, so it feels quite cozy.

The food was super flavourful. My boyfriend was very impressed with the duck, claiming that it resembled the real deal quite well.

We ordered two starters and two mains. We planned on getting dessert as well, but we were absolutely stuffed after the main course (we suspect the warm glass noodle salad was the main culprit), so we'll have to come back to try the desserts as well. Would definitely recommend this place!

Lovely

Turned up with no booking and no seats. Wet and miserable outside we decided to sit there under a canopy.
So glad we did as the food was tremendous. Wontons and spring tools to start followed by roasted duck, Kung Pao chicken and meatballs .everything was so good.
If you are in Berlin, make the effort, maybe book a table though.

Pros: Food, Staff

Fresh asian food

We had a really nice evening here - nice atmosphere, very friendly staff and good fresh food. The steamed wheat buns with duck were bomb, special wishes were no problem. We were surprised with an amuse-gueule (edamame). We will definitely visit again.

Saitan deluxe
