Would fly to Korea just for this ; ) - Edit

Such a special place. Like others have mentioned, the staff is lovely and there is such a great variety of goodies. I also love the sweet potato bread, no-sugar black rice bread and the biscotti. Last time, I tried a vegan burger and it was a very nice option for something more substantial.

They always give returning customers extra treats.

Must go place in Seoul!

Pros: Vegan treats! , Friendly, Variety

My Favorite Bakery - Edit

During my month long stay in Seoul, I have frequented this location more than any other.

I am a huge fan of their sweet potato bread!

The staff is very kind and will often give me a free item as I leave the bakery. This allows me to try more of their baked goods and also respect them to a greater degree. Their kindness will forever be remembered by me.

They have a large seating area and a variety of coffees, teas, and other drinks. I will dearly miss this bakery when I return to San Diego.

Pros: Very Friendly Staff, Great Selection of Baked Goods, Awesome Value

Very friendly owner and staff. Not to mention lots of delicious bread for vegans and vegetarians! :) - Edit

Once you enter this vege bakery, the friendly owner will greet you with his staff. There are lots of different types of bread. Unfortunately, I have tried only a few. But I tell you they all taste so good.

Besides bread, the bakery is quite spacious, and its atmosphere is quite relaxing and peaceful though there are usually many customers. And free wifi is provided. So it’s an ideal place for reading a nice book with yummy bread and hot chocolate. If you are staying in Korea, you had better go check out this great bakery. :)

Pros: Friendly owner and staff , Many different types of delicious bread, Good atmosphere

Cons: None

love love LOVE - Edit

I came here for bread. While I was here the baker gave me a sandwich, too. Ate the thing right out the door. It was delicious!! The soy ham and cheese sandwich - not sure if that's the correct translation but that's what I think he called it. The bread was delicious! Just ate toasted up the potato bread and put some avocados I found on it. Heaven. Go here! Run here!

Awesome! - Edit

On 6 days out of the 8 I spent in Seoul, I started my day with breakfast/brunch at The Bread Blue - it's that good! Everything is vegan, delicious and fairly priced and the staff are SUPER friendly (and can speak English)! The bakery itself is a very chilled and comfortable setting. I personally would recommend The Bread Blue as a must visit if you're in Seoul.

One thing to bare in mind is that with the drinks, I think there is an option between dairy milk and non-dairy milk - they always asked me what I'd prefer, though, so I think it's unlikely you'll get caught out.

Visit The Bread Blue!!!!!

The BEST Vegan Bakery Anywhere - Edit

Go here today!

I nearly gave up twice trying to find it; thankfully, I persevered (maybe ask at a hotel first). I'm from NYC but can say this is my favorite vegan bakery anywhere.

The owner is super generous and sympathetic, saying "sorry" I had trouble finding them, then bringing me over a free croissant later. They gave a huge selection of breads, cakes, cinnamon rolls, crossaint and large variety of pastries. Prices are less than New York and nothing I had was too sugary, heavy, nor greasy at all.

The green tea frappucinos were both ample in size and amazing in taste. I had two in a row! The owner reappeared, presenting me with a cream filled bread on the house.

Try the lemon cream filled pastries!

I may move to Seoul just to eat here.

Pros: Wonderful staff, Reasonable prices, Incredible treats!

Cons: None!

So Friendly - Edit

My partner and I came to buy some sweet and savory baked goods for his birthday. There wasn't much on the savory side, but the stuff we got was fantastic! We tried a piece of chocolate cake, the garlic bread, the sweet potato bread, a melon custard bun, and a chocolate custard bun. The owner was so friendly that he brought out a complementary lemon iced swiss bun that was also fantastic. we couldn't eat everything, so we asked for the baked goods to be wrapped. They were just as good the next day. This place is really amazing. It makes me want to move to Seoul! (Coffee is good too!)

Pros: Great baked goods, lots of selection, friendly sta

This is honestly one of my favorite places in Seoul. I frequented this place a few times a week :P

The owner (and all the workers) are the nicest people, the food is great! One of my personal favorites is the potato bread (when you want something savory)!

The ciabatta bread is also like the typical bread you would find in Europe or the States (not the finely ground kind you'd typically find in Asia)!

They also like to give "service" (aka free stuff) and of course, free wifi, which are always pluses!

Pros: Great Service, Great Food, Great Ambience

Cons: Nothing really. Maybe just that I keep spending $$

Amazing bakery, great staff - a must-try! - Edit

Everything I've tried here tasted delicious. There are so many salty and sweet options to choose from! Also, the drinks are huge and delicious as well. I recommend the smoothies and teas - the citron-yuzu, ginger, and mango flavors were the ones I very much enjoyed.

The owner is incredibly nice - he kept giving me things for free each time I visited! Of course, that made me addicted to so many more things, haha~ Try the salty tofu and mushroom rolls - they are amazing and very filling. The bread stuffed with a sweet potato is great as well! No, seriously, everything is great. I only regret I don't have more than one stomach or don't burn calories faster, so I could eat even more. :P

The rectangular bars with nuts in the middle, btw - you have to try those. I brought some home for relatives to try, and they loved them!

Also, there are so many 1K-won options that are amazing - I am particularly fond of the flower-shaped ones with green filling. I bought a bunch to treat acquaintances. :)

End of story, I think you will also get addicted to this place. I can't wait to come to Seoul and visit again! :)))

Some of the staff speak pretty good English, too. Everyone is friendly and helpful. It is a pleasure to sit down and sip tea while reading. There are many foreign visitors - I often heard French spoken in particular.

Check out Google maps well before your visit. It was a bit difficult for me to find the place the first time. Basically, after you walk out at the indicated subway exit, you turn at the first opportunity, then you have to cross a street with many parked cars in the middle section, then you have to go for I think 4 more blocks before you turn into a side street and follow it to the bakery.

As a side note, there is a vegan guest house for women nearby - the Sleeping Strawberry, so if you get to stay there, you can visit all the time~

Pros: Amazing bakery products, Tasty and huge drinks, Extremely nice owner and staff

The best vegan Café &bakery in Seoul! They have everything from sweets to savory, prices are quite cheap and smoothie was huge! The staff was so welcoming and nice, made us happy for the rest of the day with their smiles. really a must visit for a vegan. You don't get this stuff from anywhere else. Neighborhood is nice also, Sinchon is close to it

Great vegan bakery in Hongdae - Edit

EVERY baked good in here is VEGAN, so just go crazy and try them all. Seriously, the bread, the cakes, everything is really good. The ciabattas (2000w?) are fluffy inside, crusty outside, go grey with oil+balsamic, and are made with wholemeal (I think). The little sweet bean treats (1000w each) are awesome. The sugar-free black buns (4000w). The big chocolatey cinnamon danish thingies (3800w) are delightful. The dude is really nice, speaks enough English to help you through and tends to give foreigners a free item. Seems like plenty of Korean locals come in for the coffee and trees – no idea if they're vegan. Open 10-10. Right above Inno Jam Jam, if you need (vegan) jam, too. You can get lattes with soy or oat milk. Can't recommend this place highly enough.

Pros: Tasty treats, Nice owner, Soy coffee bevies

Cons: Hard to find (the first time)

the best in seoul - Edit

I like everything about this bakery: food is amazing and all the time I came here I had to take some home with me; location is perfect, close to the subway but in a much calmer street, so that it is pleasant to seat outside; the indoor setting is also very nice. Plus, it's open until late. The only thing I would change is even though food is 100% vegan, they do have milk for cappuccinos, smoothies etc.

Pros: tasty, cheap, huge variety

Cons: they sell dairy

The Bread Blue Is The Bomb Freakin' Diggity! - Edit

The Bread Blue is a 100% vegan bakery in Hongdae, Seoul. From a wide variety of freshly baked breads to an assortment of pastries TBB has it all! We were so impressed by TBB's foods, wide variety of soy/oat based drinks and very friendly staff that we had to go back. During our first visit we received a free Alligator Pie on top of our order which was the bomb diggity do dar! This is a real must-try place if you are visiting Seoul... No. If you are visiting South Korea!!

Some items are great, some are not - Edit

This place was not too hard for my to find. I also the store hours.

I purchased a pizza roll, tofu and mushroom spicy bread, chocolate croissant, and drink

The pizza roll was really amazing. I recommend this one to anyone.

chocolate croissant was okay

I didn't like the tofu and mushroom spicy bread because it had wayyy too much oil. If it didn't have so much oil I think it would be really good.

The staff member was very friendly :) The prices here are really fair and comparable to other bakeries (aka cheap) I definitely recommend anyone to try this place.

Pros: Price, Variety , Staff

Cons: Some food oily

A really good bakery! - Edit

I spent a couple hours at The Bread Blue yesterday and instantly felt like I was in a place that I belonged. The coffee and baked goods were amazing, but I'll get to that later. The cafe itself had plenty of comfortable seats which didn't feel crowded at all. There is plenty of natural light, the layout is comfy and spacious, and the painted tables and walls make the place very lively and inviting. If I lived in Seoul, this would definitely be a place I'd go to to read on a daily basis.

Now, the food. I bought about 40,000 won worth of food and drinks (some to take with me on a trip). I had a cappuccino and carmel macchiato, which were both delicious, and once again proof that you don't need dairy. As for the baked goods, the selection is big (despite some of the pictures), and unlike places like Paris Baguette, not everything tastes the same. There is a good selection of french pastries (including big croissants and pain au chocolat, which was pretty close to non-vegan versions I've had in good Belgian bakeries), Italian breads, savoury breads (pizza bread, ham and cheese bread, hot dogs, etc), yeast based cakes and breads like really delicious apple, cinnamon rolls, and there are typical Korean style cakes, too. Everything tasted very fresh, and can be heated for you. The baked goods are baked throughout the day, from what I saw. They also sell celebration cakes, puff pastries, and tiramisu. All vegan, of course.

All around, this is one of my favourite bakeries and not just because everything is made vegan. It's in a relaxed neighbourhood, away from street noise, with lots of sunlight, and an inviting atmosphere. The prices are similar to chain bakeries, which is unusual for a vegan business (I find they're usually more expensive). Oh, and a perfect place to meet people.

I rarely write reviews, but this place deserves and should stay open for vegans and people who just love good food and coffee. I can't wait to return.

Pros: delicious food and coffee, good location, inviting layout

Yes! - Edit

I LOVE this place. I physically can't help but stop in any time I am nearby. The breads are fantastic and most of the "sweet" stuff is amazing. Some of it is just fine, but some of the items are really spectacular. The vegan hot choco is great, too.

I deeply respect the owner of this place and I wish that everyone who supports this lifestyle would make a habit out of patronising this place. They deserve out continued and loyal business because not only are they trying to do the right thing, but the products are genuinely great.

These places need our help to remain open. For most people, there's not much difference between going to this or any other cafe. They need the solidarity of the veg community to reinforce their mission and hopefully encourage others to follow their lead.

Please make a point to get there and show your support! If you go at the end of the day, you will probably get some free stuff, too!

Pros: Apple Bread, Hot Choco, Everything!
