This is my second time at The Bowl and both experiences were awful. I first went for my birthday a few months back and we were treated very poorly-- granted it was a busy night but the staff was unhelpful, unfriendly and we felt rushed. Having worked in hospitality, I know firsthand that these things can happen but nonetheless I was hesitant to go back. My friend is here for the weekend and she was keen to try it out. Our food was good (not great) and the service was horrible. The server was clearly having an off day but nothing could have prepared us for how terribly he treated us. After a few unpleasant, passive aggressive remarks, we then asked to pay for our meals. He then informed us that we couldn't pay with card as the machine was broken. My friend (who doesn't live in Berlin) asked him where she could withdraw money. With a smirk on his face he answered: "I don't know, Google it." He then felt the need to add "you can do the dishes if you can't find it." For a place that serves average food, that is severely overpriced and has unpleasant staff, I would suggest going elsewhere-- especially in a city like Berlin where you can get amazing food for next to nothing. Such a disappointing experience!
