Disappointing - Edit
The first time we went here I was super impressed with the kentucky burger but have since been back twice more and have been left disappointed both times. I've tried the curry and the big breakfast which were mediocre and overpriced and the big breakfast was missing items. I asked about it but they had run out of things. Last time we went the kentucky burger party had changed to a generic kind of patty and wasn't nearly as good. They also change the sauce everytime we have been there with the kentucky burger so some consistency would be nice. We have given this place a few goes now but won't be back except for maybe a coffee.

Read moreNo welcoming smile or direction of how to order, or where to pay, or feedback seeking questions. We stood out the front and looked at the menu, we had dogs. No-one came to see if we wanted to sit, so we we sat. Had to go inside to get menus, and then after waiting some time to order, went inside to order. Drinks and food took a long time to come out.
Waffles were nice. Not too sweet. The "chicken" burger or waffles I was told was not available, but they could do real chicken (!!)
I wouldn't make this a destination, but there are plenty of options if you find yourself in this area and are prepared for little customer service.

Faux meat wonder - Edit
The vegan option of the Kentucky burger was delicious and did not disappoint in flavour, texture or value as it is served with chunky chips. For the coffee lovers they use Bonsoy and the service was impressive.

Cute cafe, delicious food great coffee - Edit
We chose to go to Backyard as it’s got a great and delicious menu filled with vegan and vegan option dishes for breakfast. I was going with my mum who wanted meat/egg options and as there seemed to be minimal options in Geelong. When we saw the menu for Backyard I was excited!
Read moreI ordered the avo smash and yum, looked beautiful and was a generous portion. It was delicious! The Code Black coffee was so good and strong in my soy latte.
They also have a display case filled with vegan sweet cakes. We got a takeaway peppermint cake and vanilla slice to share and they were soooo yum!
And the staff are lovely!

Great food and quick service - Edit
Great vegan menu here with lots of sweet and savoury options. Had the vegan crumpets, which were delicious with lovely raspberry chia jam and ice cream. They also have lots of dairy free milks for coffee. Staff were nice and friendly and food came quickly!

Great local cafe with vegan menu - Edit
Good range of vegan options here, hoorah! I ordered the sweet potato fritters which came beautifully presented with rocket, beetroot dip and seeds. It was really tasty and at $15 a good price for cafe food. Had a vegan slice for afters with a soy tumeric latte. I'm not local, but if I was I would definitely hang out here often! x

Bland tasting and over priced - Edit
Got the vegan breakfast and it was over priced and bland tasting, bread was rock hard and hash browns were straight out of a freezer packet. Not impressed.
