Great local chippy

Great Vegan & Veggie options, all cooked in rapeseed oil

Pros: Great Vegan Options

Cons: Smallish portions if you want lots of food

Veggie Burger

Its hard to get a suitable chip shop if you are vegetarian. Pitfalls include frying in beef dripping or sharing the fryer with meat items, or pasties including a meat component.

The owner of taste'a had been a chef I believe and decided to do things differently.

Mainly frying in rapeseed oil and offering decent vegetarian options separate from meat. They have quite a big spiel on their veg burgers on the wall.

I love the veg supper and at lunch you can get a veg burger, chips, onion rings and sauce for £3.50. Very reasonable and worth your time.

UPDATE! Now even more vegan friendly - menu now confirms the vegan options, of which there are many and clearly differentiates between vegetarian suitable and vegan suitable! Chips are vegan!! NIs most veg friendly chip shop? Looks that way! Veg menu expanded too - must visit this tucked away gem.
