Sweet little coffe place, but needs improvement - Edit
I was very looking forward to going to this place. It seemed to have nice vegan options. The counter displayed some nice vegan options and the menu offers nice warm drinks with vegan options (4 kinds of milk: oat, almond, soy and coco).
Read moreWe chose the chocolate cheesecake and a kind of cinnamon with a blueberry jam and poppyseeds.
Both pastries were very disappointing. The cheesecake did not taste at all like a cheese cake in terms of texture. For us it had a bit of a weird consistency, which I cannot describe. And the cinnamon-ish was very dry. Unfortunately, non vegan-people always have this assumption that veganised pastries are dry.. well this one was the live proof…
For the size and the taste experience, I found the prices quite expensive.
However, the coffee was nicely flavorful and strong, as we like.

Huge disappointment - Edit
We ordered two matchas, two different sweet pastries and fritatta.
Read moreFirstly matcha. The worst matcha I’ve ever had in my life and I’ve had many make them myself every day (huge fan of matcha, I’ve tried many cheap and many expensive ones). They arrived extremely sour (you could even smell it) and were supposed to be on oat milk. They were undrinkable so we thought that probably the milk has gone bad and we told it to the waitress. She didn’t react in any positive way, she seemed quite dissatisfied with our problem. When we received the new matchas they didn’t have this strong sour taste but they were still not as they should be. The matcha wouldn’t mix with the milk and would just split. Even when mixed they were so bad we could barely drink them. I guess very bad choice of milk and a very bad matcha.
Secondly, there weren’t many vegan sweet options. Everything that seemed more interesting was vegetarian. We still decided to choose two things (didn’t take a picture tho) but they turned out to have a very basic taste. Moreover I’ve asked the waitress if one cake wan’t too sweet and she said that it’s not sweet at all and just a bit of agave syrup so I took it. Turned out to be very very sweet, a ton of agave syrup.
So the only thing that was really tasty was the chickpea frittata. It saved the experience, at least we had one tasty thing to eat.
So overall we regretted going. I’m extremely surprised with the milk since I’ve had vegan milks open for two weeks at home and nothing happened ever. How long did this one sit to become bad then???
Additionally there are few places to sit and very loud music.

Sweet cafe with lots of options - Edit
I found it difficult to find veg friendly places near where I was staying so was happy to get to Sweet Irene before they closed for August holidays.
Read moreCute cafe with lovely decor. The staff were super helpful.
My friend had a caffe freddo and was really impressed. The waitress also explained the technique in making it to my friend. I only had a hot spiced chocolate and a vegan biscotti as was on the way to the airport. However, Bergamo is only a 2.5 hour flight for me so I will definitely return!

Cool venue for a break in Bergamo - Edit
Wide selection of vegan pastries (biscuits and cakes). The shop is very cute and cozy and the personnel extremely kind. Definitely worth a stop when wandering around the city center and looking for some tasty veggie snack.

Cozy vegan friendly cafe and smiley staff :D - Edit
A very cute and cozy bio cafe in a small side street in Bergamo centre. The staff is very friendly and the interior is about as warm and homey as it can get! The prices for the pastries are average for Bergamo, whereas the drinks and ice-cream were very affordable. Despite the fact that this was not a completely vegan cafe, I, as a vegan, had more than enough to choose from. Overall, very much worth a visit!

The small café in the city center of Bergamo is cozy and has the friendliest staff! They are offering lots of vegan options, mainly sweet pastries, but they also offer a lunch menu. We had plant-based yoghurt with fruits and granola for breakfast and it was delicious!

The perfect spot for coffee and sweets - Edit
I visited this cafè store because of the good reviews and it’s closeness to the ‘città alta’ and I can say that it didn’t dissapoint me at all! The place is small and cozy and offers a huge amount of vegan pastries and also plant based milks for coffee. Despite the rush in the morning the server was nice and had a chat with everyone and also helped me choosing pastries. I can’t wait to visit it again.

very yummy vegan options! - Edit
This cute little café has amazing vegan options. There are savoury and sweet things on the menu. I had the vegan zucchini fritatta, a peach muffin and my boyfriend ordered a hummus sandwich. Unfortunately there was no hot chocolate but I got some soy milk with my chai tea.😄I'd definitely recommend to come here for vegans!

Great vegan lunch and sweets - Edit
Very charming place, it feels special once you open the door! it's a vegetarian restaurant and they offer many vegan options, with quality ingredients. We had a delicious vegan lunch (3 dishes, bread, dessert and tea), the service was fast despite all the people there! The ladies were very friendly and explained everything to us in English.

Delicious lunch options! - Edit
Sweet Irene is a very nice café where they offer a huge variety of cakes (some are vegan) and also a choice of vegan and vegetarian savoury dishes. Everything I tried was very good and well-seasoned (pasta with pumpkin, salad, grains with caponata, cake). You can try several dishes at a time because they offer a mixed plate of 3 of their daily dishes. Seating is limited, the tables in the cafe are fine while the downstairs area is not so nice.

Lovely Lunch - Edit
I really like this place and could easily go back. The food was interesting and tasty, the café is cozy, and the staff are friendly. They also have a great selection of good, loose teas, which they also sell. They have lots of yummy-looking desserts. It's very busy at lunchtime with locals so you can tell that it's popular for a reason.
Read moreThe Happy Cow description says it is veg-friendly, but I didn't see any meat on the menu. To me it looked vegetarian and the meals I saw were all vegan or vegetarian and they mark them clearly. I had the lunch special: a lentil pancake beside a sort of ratatouille [but better] with a really tasty salad.
Pros: Yummm!, nice place, good teas
