Friendly owner and place

We wanted to visit this place while in Venice and it was really nice. The owner is super friendly and made some tasteful vegan paninis for us.

Pros: Cozy and nice place, Friendly owner

Cozy

Close to central station, just use (cross) the posh Calatrava brigde & you are there. Note: It's not the huge restaurant with outdoor seating but the hole in the wall next to it. Slow food preparation, top quality A , really. Good coffee. All comic books in Italian language (to buy). Friendly team. Ten seats including the couch 🛋️ inside.

Friendly and cheap

We went to super zaza for a very late lunch and were really pleased! It was very quiet in the shop while we were there, and the english of the server wasn't very good, but he was super friendly and we managed to communicate. When we ordered two different sandwiches (falafel and parmigiana) he offered to cut them in half so we could each have a taste of them both which was very thoughtful. They were very cheap and delicious - I was expecting something like cheese just with tomato but it was fresh and yum with vegetables. The menu was slightly impenetrable, with one main menu and then a smaller handwritten one we couldn't decipher. To be honest, we didn't really know what sandwich we were going to get until we got it, but they were delicious. Would definitely recommend.

A hidden gem! A calm (evening) cafe getaway (variable hours)

So glad I found this place!! A little cafe connected to a games shop, this place feels out of place in Venice in the best possible way: cheap prices for tasty oversized sandwiches, a sort of community vibe where everyone was super friendly, and a cute indoor seating area with a comfy couch. And games to peruse! What more could you want?! I ate while a friendly dog lounged at my feet and watched an intense game of connect 4.

I got a giant sandwich, a small sandwich to go for a late night snack, and a cookie (and was given some beet dip and crackers to sample on the house) and thought there was a mistake when the bill only said 8euros.

Had some nice chats with the person running the cafe. They’ve only been open 2 months (as of July 2024) and their hours are a bit flexible and up in the air still; especially in the summer when it is hot out. They are hoping to have more regular hours but they might be closed while it’s hot out during the day and open later in the afternoon. I tried coming around 2pm and it seemed closed but I rang the bell and they offered to open up for me! I said don’t worry and I’m glad I made it back here later in the evening!

Pros: Great cafe food at cheap prices , Cafe setting with couches and good vibes, Friendly service who are fluent in English

Cons: Variable hours
