Happiness in food - Edit
This spot is so special! Their food was delicious, Chey helped make sure everyone was taken care of, and the chalk countertop messages were inspirational! Stopped through on the way to a retreat and left with a fully belly & happy heart!

Best Vegan Philly! - Edit
Found them on Happy Cow and it was a hidden gem in the mall. I got the Comeback Combo and a Cake Shake, and everything from start to finish was incredible. The staff were warm and welcoming; it honestly felt like I was being fed by a friend who just happens to be an amazing cook.
Read moreThe food was so good! The fried oyster mushrooms were the bomb. Perfectly crunchy and paired so well with the sauces. The tea was also surprisingly great, refreshing without being too sweet- I think I overheard them saying they used agave. The whole meal felt thoughtful and homemade in the best way.
The vibe in the spot is chill and fun. They had a TV playing movies and there were board games stacked on the side for anyone hanging out. Come with a friend and post up for a bit, play games while you wait for good food.
Already planning to come back tomorrow for the tacos and telling my coworkers they need to get over here ASAP.
Pros: People were so nice, Food was bomb, They have board games!
Cons: In a mall vs their own brick and mortar

Location issues - Edit
Please move to a safer area. I am a vegan and love to eat out, however, I’m from here and I just don’t feel safe in that area.

Delicious - Edit
I came to Memphis for a work trip and knowing I was essentially on the border of Mississippi, HappyCow wasn’t showing me many options around. But actually, Sun of a Vegan was close by so I ordered food for take away. Honestly it’s so good! The fries are crinkle cut but spiced with just the right seasonings, I had the jumbo chopped Vickey BBQ, sad part is the coleslaw was nowhere to be found, but it was still so tasty. I wish I was here longer so I could try more of the menu
Read morePros: All vegan , Reasonably priced , Southern comfort goodness
Cons: Missing my coleslaw😒

So good! - Edit
Ordered from here while on vacation and all the food hit the spot! I had a quesadilla, cup of chili, and the French fries with cheese sauce. All were so good, but the quesadilla was especially amazing! My non-vegan husband got the oyster po boy and loved that as well. Will definitely return to try more items when back in town!

Spicy, Juicy = Divine! - Edit
I ordered the Fajita Burger & Fried Oyster Mushrooms. The deliciousness control is turned to the maximum, but so is the messiness factor, so you may want to ask for an extra napkin or two!
Read moreThe girl who took my order was sweet and helpful (she guided me to an incredible dipping sauce for the mushrooms when I told her to choose for me). The service was quick enough for me, though not instant. (Be sure to ask for a tipping jar if you feel inclined — they forgot to leave one out when I was here and I had to ask for one).
All in all, a wonderful lunch!
Pros: Delicious & Fun Food! , Kind and Helpful Service, Large Menu (variety)
Cons: A little pricey, (but worth it for me!)

Wow! Best taco ever. - Edit
Although the mall it’s in was a bit abandoned, and we were a bit hesitant to stay, the food was worth it! I got the super taco with their hot “beef”.

Worth the Drive!! - Edit
We were passing through Memphis and Sun of a Vegan was 26 minutes away from our destination, but we were so tempted by the menu that we decided to drive out to try them.
Read moreWORTH IT! We got the Chopped BBQ Vicken Sandwich w/Apple Slaw, the SOV Nacho Supreme and the Fried Pickles.
All of these were a 10/10, we cannot overstate how great their food was. Customer service was great, the food was picture-worthy and the servings were big!
A note on the location - Do not let the fact that this restaurant is located in a mall fool you into thinking they're not open! They're located in the very back at the food court. It made for an interesting experience, too!!

Bad Experience - Edit
Went to try the famous lasagna. When I asked if they had it, an employee gave me the dirtiest look. Another employee looked up to say "no". Very rude staff and weird location in an empty mall. Ended up leaving without getting anything. Bummer.

Best Burger in 25 Years - Edit
My daughter (vegan) and I (plant forward) made our way through the mall and are so glad we did. Quesadilla and loaded nachos were great, and the fajita burger was a top notch, lick your fingers, 3 napkin delight. Very kind and responsive service. Great people, great food.
Read moreIt was an adventure walking through the mostly closed mall but Sun of a Vegan is open until 8pm this Friday evening. Glad we ignored the posted mall hours and found a nice security guard who helped us locate the restaurant.
You can tell the staff cares about their food and the people they serve. It was a good fun food dining experience.
Pros: Great food, Great people, Finding the food court was a rewarding adventure
Cons: Ignore the posted mall hours, they're open to 8 pm

Awesome Food! - Edit
In from out of town and stopped for dinner. We ordered the Philly, Nachos, Quesadilla, and a couple of milkshakes. Good size portions and the food was amazing! Very flavorful. The best vegan Philly we have ever had. Don’t miss out on the milkshakes. We were on the fence, but glad we ordered them, they were SO good! Friendly staff. A little tricky to find (It’s inside the mall), but don’t let that deter you, it’s definitely worth it! We will definitely be back whenever we are in Memphis!
