Fantastic food and clearly marked vegan options - Edit
Almost all dishes have a steamed or fried tofu vegan protein substitution option in addition to a small dedicated vegan-only menu.

Lots of vegan options! - Edit
They clearly label what is vegan and what can be made vegan. We liked the Vegan Kow Yum and the veganized Kow Soi Moo Krob. The spring rolls (Kuay Teow Lui Suan) wasn’t bad, but nothing special.

LOVE this place - Edit
It’s one of my all time favorites in the Camberville area! The portions when you dine in are very generous (the takeout ones not so much). They have a lot of different kinds of regional Thai cuisine which you don’t see very often. They also have a veg-only menu which was a delight! No more scrounging for the veg sign😄

Best Thai food in Boston area - Edit
I ordered from this place for takeout yesterday and it was amazing! Mango sticky rice was delicious. I had the vegan drunken noodles and it was SO GOOD. Flavorful, not too greasy, hefty portion of tofu, as I like it. I also tried their fresh veggie rice paper rolls which were delicious. Will be ordering from them again for sure.

Sugar and spice was very nice! - Edit
Enjoyed lunch at Sugar and Spice on our way to the airport. The restaurant was bright and the wait staff was attentive. I dined with a group that included non-vegans and they really enjoyed their traditional Thai menu options. I enjoyed the vegan menu and clearly marked vegan options. I had the Vegan Kow Yum and Vegan Summer rolls. Both were delicious! The Kow Yum was so flavorful and had a wide variety of fruits, vegetables and textures. Overall, a wonderful dining experience.

This is my comfort place! Every time I’ve had a sad day, I order from here. I recently became gluten free so I can no longer eat the scallion pancakes but I’m obsessed with them.

Epic Thai food - Edit
Sugar & Spice have a very extensive menu, so much so that you have to use a phone or iPad to view the full thing as only the most popular options fit on the handout menu. There are tons of vegan options in each category and additionally many of the non vegan options can be made vegan too. Everything is clearly labelled as vegan or VA for available as vegan. Everything we ate was both visually appealing and tasted fantastic. Many of the menu items are unusual and imaginative, including the entire cocktail menu. Prices are very reasonable and the service was good. This was genuinely the best restaurant I ate at in Boston.

If you ever find yourself at porter square and you have time to spare, come check this place out! With the amount of options they have it might as well be a vegan restaurant! (except it's not)

Many items can be made vegan and are clearly marked. They pay a lot of attention to your order and even if you order something vegetarian, they’ll ask to make sure you’re okay with egg in the dish. Appreciate the sensitivity to animal product ingredients!!

This place gets PACKED on weekends. And it's clear why: the food is PHENOMENAL. But be prepared to wait or else get takeout to go.

No leftovers, so you know it’s good! - Edit
They have a completely vegan menu with specialties based off of regions of Thailand. We went with the drunken noodles because I’ve always heard about them but have never had them vegan. They were fantastic! Had the spicy tofu eggplant which was even better! Really happy with the legit spice level!! Enjoyed a mango slush with boba and a Thai beer as well. The food came out super quick and the portions were extremely reasonable for the price. The staff was attentive and friendly. The place was busy, but that’s a good thing! We went home with zero leftovers…because the food was so good! Can’t wait to come back!!

Expansive vegan menu - Edit
Sugar and Spice is a go-to for delicious, filling, and VEGAN Thai food. The dedicated vegan menu is large enough that we always get to try new items, though the green curry, drunken noodles, and mango curry are my favorites. The spring rolls are excellent as well. Staff are knowledgeable about the vegan menu and vegan ingredients/substitutions.

They have a dedicated vegan menu, the staff are knowledgeable, and theyre working on labeling everything! I order delivery/takeout nowadays and even their online menu has a vegan section and a special checkbox to "make vegan"! They sometimes have meat/non vegan dishes listed on there, but that's because there is that "make vegan" option. Once you get used to the menu layout there's so many options!

I would have given this 5 stars but it's not a fully vegan restaurant. They have a comprehensive vegan menu and there were so many things I wanted to try.

Vegans beware - Edit
They have a very large vegan and glutenfree menu. So on the surface this looked liked a good dining option for my husband and I. The main issue is they serve meat and one of the specialities items includes a dish that they hang roasted meat over a pan with a flame. The person next to us ordered this dish and it really turned me off. The tables are very close together so no getting away from what others are eating.
Read moreThe food over all was good but on the greasy side. They do not quite got down what vegan is. They had dishes on the vegan menu listed with eggs. They also served us whipped cream with our mango and sticky rice. The pancake and vegan dumplings where greasy.

Cons: Lots of meat served in this resturant., Expensive

They have quite a few options and the food is good, however I’ll only order again if eating in rather than takeout/catering as one time when ordering for a work event they put chicken in the vegetarian pad Thai.

I often order catering for events from Sugar and Spice. It’s really nice they have a vegan menu and can provide large orders on relatively short notice. My go to is the vegan drunken noodles and mango tofu curry.

... and everything nice! - Edit
I was with a couple of non-vegan friends in Cambridge recently looking for a place to eat. We asked a couple of women near the T, and they suggested Sugar and Spice. I figured Thai food should be fine - I could always ask to have a dish made without animal products. When I asked the waitress about modifying one of the dishes to make it vegan, she asked if I'd like to see their vegan and gluten-free menus! WOW! What a surprise! All three of us ordered from the special menus. The food was reasonable and quite good, and they were more than willing to customize any order. Be sure to request the vegan menu - they didn't offer it until I requested to have something from their regular menu modified to make it vegan.
