Really good vegan food - Edit
We ate here twice and would recommend it to others. The vegan items are clearly marked on the menu. The dishes were nicely prepared and plated, and the portions were good. We didnt care for the schnitzel as it was kind of bland and basically a chicken fried patty of some sort. But that is what schnitzel is, right, so i guess its a credible vegan version. Our favorites were the asparagus miso soup and the house-made veggie burger. The burger isnt on a bun but rather on a bed of marinara, surrounded with mushrooms and other cooked veggies, and topped with spears of asparagus and some lettuce. We also had the vegan appetizer plate which was nice.

Vegan Fine Dining - Edit
Went there multiple times. Amazing to find high level vegan cuisine in such a small village.

Vegan options in Bacharach - Edit
Restaurant located on the first floor of a hotel, with a separate entrance via side stairs, so you don't have to enter the hotel to eat. It has a vegetarian menu with vegan options: "vegan snack plate", miso soup, vegan burger and vegan dessert sorbets. The noodles are not vegan because they contain egg. The miso soup was too salty for me. The hamburger plate is very good and huge, it’s enough for a meal (without starters). We didn't get to try dessert because we were so full. The restaurant is expensive.

Cons: Few vegan options to choose, Pricey

Veggi and Vegan - Yes of course! - Edit
The restaurant serves several vegan dishes. Even a vegan 4-course-menu is available. Vegan and vegetarian options are well visualized.
Read moreThe food was very good, fresh, regional and creative. I was impressed by the complexity of the vegan dishes in an omni-restaurant (jackfruit-burger-patty, 3 different special sorbets, vegan wine...). In an area like this, you unfortunately don't have a broad variety of vegan restaurants - so at least it is a nice place to get vegan food.
Pros: Broad variety of dishes, Fresh food, Vegan wine
Cons: Closed on Mondays, Serves meat, A little bit pricey

Nice Option in the Area - Edit
The first time I ate here, they brought me something with milk in it. However, they fixed the problem right away. I've eaten here on multiple occasions. The food is good and it's a good place when you're with non-vegans.

One of Two Restaurants with Vegan Options - Edit
This restaurant was one of two that we found that offered vegan options. We ordered a miso-sesame asparagus soup, a babaganoush/hummus platter, and a house made kaput noodle dish with mixed vegetables - all were quite good. The staff was friendly and attentive and appeared familiar with vegan requests.

They served me a animal product. - Edit
We were walking in bacharach and found this place by chance, excited by the label of 'vegan' for a few dishes on the menu, we decided spontaneously to have a light diner. The food, service, and everything was nice, However they came out with bread-that was served with lard (i.e. pigs fat) didn't tell us what is was. I had some, and then when the waiter came back they told me what is was. I was at the point of tears, and couldn't even look at the waiter. Then when out dishes came out, the server said 'unfortunately we don't have anything vegan to serve with bread' and then gave my husband the meditterean salad with was covered in hummous and baba ghanoush. I can't explain their incompetence at serving people who clearly are ordering vegan asking if the restaurant gets the vegan concept 'pig fat' and then not realise they can just serve us hummous or baba ghanoush in place of pig fat. I tried to forget it, I'm so embarassed and sad for eating 'meat fat.' In the end they didn't even apologise-which when messing up this bad they should. As there are few vegan places to eat in the area, take the liberty of being the militant vegan and double check everything they serve you, because they may not understand.

BEST vegan 4 course menu in the Rheingau - Edit
First off, this restaurant serves meat, but given to its Location far off any vegan options, Bacharach, this is a gem. I have been strictly vegan for 12 years now, and for my birthday we decided to hike the Rheingau. I knew it would probably be very very difficult to get anything vegan besides fries or maybe a side salad, as the Rheingau is a very traditional meaty place when it comes to food. My boyfriend discovered this restaurant and we decided to give it a go - there is regular 4 course striktly vegan menu, you don't need to book it in advance, it's always available and super yummy! I even had a vegan Crème Brulée!!! Highly recommended.
