Serves meat, vegan options available. Farm to fork focused restaurant. Uses Upton's seitan in a few dishes, including the "hipster delight" stuffed pepper with house-made pasta and the chef's signature "not your butcher's enchiladas." Craft beer selection. Nice place - Edit
Standard Brussels sprouts. No bacon of course. Vegan enchiladas. As you would expect. Stella beer menu. Stand alone small business in a busy smallerish downtown.

Great food! - Edit
The menu is short, and only has two vegan entrees (vegan enchiladas and cauliflower steak), but if either of those appeal to you it won’t disappoint! We went on a Saturday night and were able to get seated almost right away. The area is wheelchair accessible, though the indoor seating is incredibly low-lit, it was brighter outside at 8 p.m. than it was inside. Food came in a timely manner and friendly staff. A great meal, though definitely will be saving it for special occasions with the price (we got two lemonades, house burger, sprouts, and vegan enchiladas for $62 not including tip). Outdoor seating area was also very nicely spaced out and in a lovely part of downtown Plainfield!

Few but great options - Edit
Vegan food options were Brussels sprouts, enchiladas, and cauliflower steak. We tried the Brussels sprouts and enchilada and both were amazing! Adorable little town and very friendly staff

Terrific brussel sprouts! - Edit
The impossible enchiladas are back! However, the bbq seitan is apparently gone. The brussel sprouts are a winner! We had fries too. Expensive, but it's a nice place, so that's no surprise.

Delicious and accessible - Edit
Update: just an FYI, the enchiladas have been retired and a BBQ seitan dish has replaced them. It's pretty good but not as good as the enchiladas.
Read moreI love Soverign. The brussel sprouts are divine, and that's coming from someone that doesnt like brussel sprouts. The enchiladas are amazing, very delicious. Possibly one of the tastiest entrees I've ever enjoyed at a restaurant. Vegan options, though few, are labeled on the menu clearly. Glad to have somewhere with omni and vegan options in Plainfield. Great booze selection. Patio seating is cozy and wonderful. Really love this place.
Pros: Clearly labelled vegan options, Delicious specialties
Cons: Not many vegan options

Good Vegan Dish - Edit
Vegan enchiladas were amazing! I love when restaurants put thought into vegan dishes because usually they are a hit. Maybe they will offer more options in the future.

sadly one amazing vegan option - Edit
The enchiladas are so flavorful- beyond flavorful. The sauce is so rich and complex. The seitan was the perfect consistency. I wish the rice and bean side was bigger for the price, but it's a solid vegan option- your family will be jealous... Or all three may order the enchiladas. The kombucha cocktail was great too.
Read moreIt's a little pricy here but you won't be disappointed. I'd say when you go, talk to the owner and tell him how amazing the vegan option is and how you would love for there to be more. The more we praise and inquire, the more apt owners will be to try to create another great thing.
Pros: organic fresh, great atmosphere
Cons: only one vegan menu item , expensive

Vegan friendly - Edit
While the vegan options are indeed clearly labeled on the menu...there is only 1, enchiladas. They use Daiya cheese and are very good. The Brussels sprouts appetizer is awesome and some of their salads can be made vegan. They made the mushroom gyro vegan for my wife, but used a vegan cheddar instead of feta and it was just OK. No vegan deserts here at all. Great beer list. Which they had more than one vegan entree though. Our service was average, wait 1 hour on a Friday night for a party of two...they don't take reservations but use the "Nowait" app.

YUM - Edit
We tried their vegan enchiladas with the soyrizo and vegan cheese. It was great! The beans and rice that came on the side did not have much flavor, but the enchiladas themselves were awesome. The vegan options were clearly marked on the menu, the prices were a little high, the atmosphere was casual but nice, and there were lots of beer options. Also, it looks like they source most everything locally, which is nice too.

Amazing place--but get there early! - Edit
This is hands-down the best restaurant Plainfield has ever seen. The service is wonderful, and the food--all local and sustainable--is unbelievable! Vegan options are clearly labeled on the menu, and the kitchen is very accommodating. (For instance, I've ordered the Veggie sandwich a few times subbing the cheese out for extra hummus.)
Read moreChef Dave is phenomenal. The enchiladas are always generously spiced and served with an incredible sauce, the stuffed pepper is sweet and smoky and served over a house-made vegan pasta that is out of this world. The ratatouille is surprisingly flavorful and topped with a generous, gooey helping of Daiya cheese!
The only problem: the restaurant is small and the incredible food and beer make it a very popular destination. Furthermore, they do not take reservations. Arrive early and/or prepare to drop by to put your name in and then shop downtown until your table is ready. I promise you, it's worth the wait!
Pros: newly rennovated, delightful waitstaff, outdoor seating
Cons: small, no reservations
