Delicious tofu ! - Edit
There were lots of options for vegetarians, clearly indicated on a separate menu. The chef specifically recommanded fried tofu with miso and it was delicous, i had never tried tofu that tasted this good before. The soba noodles (hot) were divine, and the tofu and potato croquettes excellent as well. It is not that easy to find vegetarian food in Nagoya, don't waste your time and go straight to Sojuan. If I had more time I would go back to try everything veggie option they have. In addition the chef and waitress were really adorable and she was a Ghibli fan so language was not an obstacle anymore. A great moment.

Not the best but can make it - Edit
They have a large menu called suitable for vegetarian but as said in a previous review, be careful bcz when have a small indication in right in Japanese it mean contains eggs or even fish. We had decent dinner, with steamed veggies, rices, soup with tofu and mushrooms and tempura. And also some potatoes fries that were yummy.

Small portions, a large menu - Edit
It's great to finally be able to choose from a long menu, but the dishes were not that diverse: tofu or vegetables, basically. I also thought they were a tad overpriced for such small portions. Be careful when choosing from the English menu, as they include notes only in Japanese that say whether the dish has bonito flakes.

Cons: Bonito flakes shouldn't be in a vegetarian menu

Great Japanese restaurant - Edit
Awesome place I stumbled upon, staff understand vegan and have a whole vegan/vegetarian menu with plenty of options. I had tofu hot pot, fried thin tofu, vegetables, tofu croquette and all were great. I would love to go back and try more of the menu next time I visit.

10/10!!! - Edit
Wow, incredible experience!!! Would give 100 stars if I could. I was struggling to find decent vegan options in Nagoya compared to Tokyo or Kyoto but a quick google search told me about Sōjuan and I RAN there. Massive vegan/vegetarian menu full of traditional japanese dishes. If you are plant-based and stopping off in Nagoya, this is a MUST!
