more novel than nourishing

I love Korean food so I appreciate having some vegan options but the quality is about what you'd expect from a chain. The place is small, neat, and often seems to be bustling. You order and pay via QR code at the table and the food is served quite quickly. I got the vegan K school tray and it was nice to try a few dishes but they were all pretty sweet and lacked depth of flavour. I might try the teokbokki next time but also wouldn't rush back.

STUFF OF MY DREAMS !!

Honestly, I have never randomly stumbled across a restaurant with vegan options and been as happy as this…

My friend and I were visitors to Melbourne and by chance walked by…VEGAN TTEOKBOKKI AT A RESTAURANT?!?!! What vegan genie heard me and granted me my wishes? Anyway…it was absolutely straight fire, next time I would get it with ram-yum(ramen). Seaweed rolls were also a hit. Everything, delicious!

Super friendly staff, lovely decor, good vibes, nice all around😄

Awesome food!

I had the vegetarian jjajangmyeon, it was honestly one of the best Korean food I’ve had. Definitely will go back to try their other vegan options too!

Pros: Range of vegan / vegetarian options, Great taste

It's okay I guess

Don't get me wrong, Sinjeon has more vegan options than 99% of other Korean restaurants and for that I'm glad they exist, but it's a massive franchise chain and the food quality is consistent with that. Think McDonalds but Korean street food. I got the vegan kimbap and the vegan bibimbap while my friend got meat versions of the same and we both said that it felt like we were eating the same 3 ingredients but just in a slightly different form. And unfortunately they've gone with the really weird concept of salad on rice for their bibimbap instead of the usual delicious claypot crispy bottomed hot meal that I've had in most other Korean restaurants. Please, restauranteurs, stop putting salad leaves on warm rice, it does not taste good. Anyway I would probably eat here again but maybe would choose something else next time, and only if I was really hungry.

Pros: Fast service, Lots of vegan options

Cons: Food tastes okay, Disposable cutlery only

Yum

Had the two vegan set deals after a night out at the Gallery was really yum we were so hungry we forgot to take pics! The vegan Tteok-bokki and Japchae was exceptional. Vegan items clearly labeled lots of options. Cute vibe. $45 deal for two is of good value. PS I went to the one in Sydney on Liverpool st they are all same menu I have added the Sydney one on Happy Cow but it’s not up/approved yet!

Nice

If you’re into Korean food and want to try vegan options I recommend this place
Kbbq places aren’t the best cause it just smells terribly, but here it’s just menu options
The vegan food includes Mandu, Gimbap and bibimbap
Gimbap was like back in Korea
Bibimbap unfortunately comes with teriyaki sauce . The Gochujang is with milk so I’d advise always double checking what’s vegan
Staff is super friendly
Lots of people come here
Great prices and good atmosphere
Loved the Mandu as well

Pros: Gimbap, Mandu

Cons: Gochujang isn’t vegan
