Best pizza ever

100% the best pizza I have ever tasted, vegan or not. Vegan meat wasn't overly meaty but cheese was incredible. Worth the effort to get there.

Great food, great service, great staff!

AMAZING! So many vegan options from pizzas to pastas to salads and desserts. I had the gf vegan carbonara pasta and it was lovely. The sauce was not too heavy and had just the right amount of faux bacon- just to give it some smokiness. I also tried the radicchio salad (without Gorgonzola) which was fresh and delicious. For dessert, I couldn’t decide so had a vegan cannoli AND the tiramisu. Regrettably I ate the cannoli first. It was sooo delicious that the tiramisu (although also delicious) did not compare.

Service was great, staff were friendly and attentive. Really impressed and will be back for sure!

Pros: Tonnes of vegan options, Delicious, fresh food, Friendly staff

Disappointing

Cute little Italian restaurant and while the pizza crust was excellent, and there were many vegan options, the vegan pizzas simply replaced the meat and cheese with faux alternatives instead of creating pizzas which celebrated vegetables. We ordered the calzone and pumpkin special pizza, with a tiramisu for dessert. The faux meats and cheese detracted from the tomato flavour and amazing crust. The tiramisu was dry with a thick sticky cream. If you enjoy the taste and texture of faux meats you might really enjoy the food but for the price point I was disappointed.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Cute restaurant

Cons: Expensive , Over reliance on faux meat

Excellent authentic Italian pizza

I'm Italian and eating their pizza I felt I was in Italy
The pizza had great dough and very well balanced quality ingredients, well done guys

We had a party last night at home with 8 Italians (6 of them fresh off the boat) - we decided to try this new place for us and ordered 8 different pizzas so everybody could have a taste of different pizzas.

It was a great success - everybody loved them and no complains at all (which is difficult with Italians fresh off the boat as they always compare food here with food in Italy!)

My favorite ones were Zio Pino and Il Dottore - despite the silly names they were super super delicious! A must try as the combination of the ingredients is quite unique

Pros: excellent pizza, professional staff, good value

Cons: none

Fantastic!

I really do love Shop 225! Really great pizzas and lots of vegan options (sometimes even dessert!). Additional chilli and cashew parmesan served alongside pizza. Can't recommend enough!

The Best Pizza in Melbourne!

Hands down the most delicious pizza in Melbourne. I literally cannot eat pizza anywhere else after eating here. The dough is soft and chewy and salty and the toppings are all amazing. They have definitely nailed the vegan pizzas! YUMMMM! Not to mention how lovely the owners and staff are. Highly recommended. I would rate it 5 stars if possible!

Pros: Very tasty, Friendly environment, Quality produce

5 stars!

The best pizza in Melbourne. As the other comment says, definitely deserves 5 stars. Half of the menu is able to be made vegan by swapping the non vegan toppings for a quality vegan version. Perfectly chewy bases. I wasn't sure what to expect from a non veg place but they've really made an effort to make and source quality vegan products with great attention to detail. The owner is so friendly and loves what she does. Can't wait to go back.

worth another try

I'd been looking forward to trying this pizza for so long, I probably set myself up for a little disappointment. I phoned in my order for a vegan version of their il Dottore with porcini and sausage. It was ready to go when I arrived to pick it up 20 min later and the staff were really sweet and friendly. I couldn't resist trying a slice on the tram on the way home. Piping hot, I didn't really appreciate the subtle flavours. It'd cooled a lot by the time I got home and that allowed the flavours to come through more. I polished the whole thing off with a curly endive salad. The base is deliciously chewy, reminding me of the amazing Sfizy Veg in Neukölln. The toppings fell short a bit for me. The sausage in particular was pretty flavourless and a bit mealy in texture. Cheese was nice and creamy but not totally melted so maybe it could've done with a bit longer in the oven. I'd try a pizza with more veggie toppings next time - I reckon they'd be tastier. Dunno if it's really worth more than $20 for a pizza but would try again.

Pros: delicious base, notzarella

Cons: expensive , sparse toppings

deserves 5 stars!

Amazing little pizza shop.
They are very new and they assure me they are going to expand the vegan menu. Nonetheless when they are quiet they are happy to make up a pizza for you. I went in there recently and ordered 4 vegan pizzas and let the chef (owner) decide, and we got 4 of the most delicious varied pizzas. The other owner runs the floor and is so sweets and welcoming.

Pros: cheap San Pellegrino water, generous use of vegan cheese, best pizzas bases I've ever tasted

Cons: not licensed
