SesamMe

While this place does offer tasty vegan halva, the whole experience felt sketchy/scamy. My friend decided to buy some halva after sampling a few and asked for a very small slice. The woman cut a very very large piece after my friend asked for a smaller piece and ignored my friend when she asked the shopkeeper to cut the piece smaller. My friend was very gracious and just paid the £25 GBP for the very large slice, but she shouldn’t have been put in that situation by the staff. I’m so embarrassed that I brought my friend here and have felt really bad about this because it was upsetting to my friend. I’ll never step foot in here again because of this. There are other places that offer vegan halva that have better ethics. Plus, this shop is not 100% vegan, so I’ll be submitting an update to the listing.

Very sesame!

Naturally vegan, unique, yummy and healthy snacks. I quite like them, especially the dark chocolate one. They are a little bit expensive though.

Fantastic halva

I normally don’t like halva, but this artisanal halva place is definitely a cut above. Most of their halves are vegan, but make sure to ask which are which. they offer some other items as well, but halva is their main attraction.

I love halva so much!

Super yummy, good portions. The staff were a bit disorganised when serving me but this was a few years ago now and to be honest they were super kind about it. Have good awareness of what is and isnt vegan

Cannot not buy

While browsing the many small shops in Camden Market, I saw one that said "SesamMe", specializing in sesame products. A big sign said "vegan friendly". I just had to go inside.

The specialty product of this shop is called "halva". It is a kind of cake or pie made from pressed sesame (no cooking or baking!), which can be flavored in many ways. It's a snack from the middle east. Halva has a unique texture and the mild flavor makes it special as well. The sales lady had me taste many varieties, after which I simply couldn't say no.

Do note that this stuff is expensive. For a 250 gram piece of halva I paid 11 GBP. On the plus side: it keeps for about a year and it doesn't need cooling.

Pros: unique taste

Cons: expensive, very expensive

MUST TRY!!

Stumbled upon this place and so glad we went inside. All of the flavors they had while we were there were vegan besides one, made with nutella and clearly marked "CONTAINS DAIRY" and the workers pointed out the one dairy one as soon as we walked in. Halva is delicious. I can't really describe it besides its like a flaky fudge made from seasme seeds. We bought a piece of mocha and a piece of hazlenut and spent about 16 pounds and ate it all week. (It should have lasted a lot longer but it was soooo good). Workers were super friendly and let you try as many flavors as you want for free. If you try it, you'll be hooked.

Unique products

I passed by this store by accident today and I‘m really glad I did. I tried several different pieces of ‚cake‘ and they‘re all sweet and lovely. Vegan cakes made from tahini is definitely very unique and I didn’t expect it to be THAT tasty. I bought a piece for 7 pounds, sadly I don’t remember the name of the flavor😒Prices are rather expensive but for me it’s definitely worth it. A paradise for vegans with a sweet tooth.

Pros: Friendly staff, All vegan, Unique
