Trust the reviews

The service and the restroom have been improved compared to previous reviews. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the soup served. It was inedible. Sorry to have to say that.

Solid 4

Not sure if something has changed but the variety is outstanding as a sideline to an omnivore menu.
I had the vegan tofu bao buns and they were outstanding. Then I had Vegan noodles but I asked for extra chilli and garlic. Why do people not read an accurate description of the dish and then add on ? Anyway, vegan spring rolls were great, the pakoras were mediocre, the vegan dumplings in veggie broth with black pepper were awesome as they were. Really peppery too.

Pros: The variety of dishes. , The staff were lovely. , The location is cute and central

Cons: The plastic wind shields only go up at night :), I don’t have access to the bao buns at home.

It’s alright, a tasty stop

Very limited menu but I was looking for a fast eat late at night after landing (10:30pm) and was able to walk up to a table. Seated quickly and food came fast and hot, I had the vegan noodles which was essentially noodles with shredded carrot and cabbage in sauce, tasty for what it was and would stop here again if I’m a hurry for quick food.

Pros: Speed of service, Food was nice and hot, Attentive waiter

Cons: Menu is limited

Good enough for a touristic place

Not the best food ever but also not the worst.
The buns with tofu are good.
The peanut sauce noodles and the chilli tofu are ok 😊

Updated from previous review on 2023-06-09

Pros: The one around with more vegan options, Food is ok 👍🏻

Cons: Not extremely delicious

Extremely tasty,freshly cooked Chinese food

Very friendly service from our lovely waiter, lovely seating out of the midday sun, and ice cold beers! Clearly marked veggie/vegan options on the menu, I ordered the veggie samosas, and soring rolls (served 2) as starters which were very hot and crispy served with sweet chilli sauce followed by veggie noodles which were absolutely delicious and also freshly cooked. My partner had the beef in black bean which he said was fabulously cooked. A great dining experience in Valletta! 😍

Pros: Great fiid, Great service, Clean restroom

Cons: Nothing , Nothing, Nothing

Bad💀💀💀

So bad. Service slow. Server was avoiding us. The food is really really bad, flavourless. Raw tofu with boiled rice and not veg 💀 so slow to get to the table when they didn’t have many costumers and the food isn’t very elaborate

Mediocre Asian food

I ordered the tofu bao buns which were lovely, I also enjoyed the ambience of the outside area. However I agree with the other reviews - my main dish was very bland (had the broccoli with cashew nuts and steamed rice) and was overpriced for what we got. I would stick with the starter options. Used the customer bathroom which was awful - very unhygienic which made me worry about hygiene of the kitchen. Would not return.

Pros: Nice ambience (outside seating area), Starter dish nice

Cons: Expensive for what you get, Main dish lacking any flavour , Customer bathroom

uhm

we went here so we could take part in the discussion here.

we came here a bit biased because of the reviews, so the expectations were low.

we ordered two dishes to share: peanut butter noddles and vegan dumplings. Id say bot were fine, but not particularly special.

service could be better.

the location of the place was a bit different than shown in the map, near ‘de bono coffee’.

the food can improve. the peanut butter noodles have too much sauce and are quite greasy. vegetable dumplings are good.

Wouldn't recommend

Saw the mixed reviews and thought we would decide for ourselves. Please don't make the same mistake! The food is not good, avoid - there are much better places around

Pros: Cheap, Polite staff

Cons: Bland food

Really bad.

It was a bad experience in many ways.
Cons:
- The vegan menu is MUCH smaller than the photos listed, there are maybe 5 dishes vegan
- The drinks menu looked like a 9 year old’s school project after just discovering Word fonts
- The drink I ordered never came so I had to ask for it 20 minutes after all of my friends drink’s came
- The waiter then delivered me the incorrect drink that I had now asked for twice
- The food took at least 1hr 45m to all arrive… we were one of 5 tables the whole time and we hadn’t ordered a lot so that’s crazy slow
- The food was essentially greasy Chinese food for fine-dining prices
- Almost all of it was served quite cold, luke-warm at absolute best, this made the spicy beef inedible
- The rice we ordered came cold and burnt, with a crispy layer over the whole top
- I ordered Pak Choi and was given chopped up limp cabbage, when I questioned the waitress she told me they didn’t have any pak choi so they gave me cabbage instead… not the same thing at all and they should’ve at least notified me of the change or told me when I was ordering that they didn’t have any??
- My friend’s noddles were very burnt in places, patches were inedible
- The worst part by absolute far though is the customer bathroom… words cannot describe. I would genuinely rather cut off my own arm than use it. Clearly this business has no concern for hygiene whatsoever and seeing it gave me great concerns for the state of the kitchen.

Pros:
- The owner of the business was serving some of the other customers and seemed very friendly
- The owner’s dog was also present and was very willing to be petted
- Although most of the food was really quite bad and came out cold, the veg spring rolls and spicy chilli tofu were good but certainly not worth a 1 hour 45 min wait on a quiet day
- The waitress that served us for the most part was also nice, the other attending staff member was less than useless however

Pros: Outside seating, Good drinks selection

Cons: Expensive , Poor quality , Ridiculous wait times

Terrible food and slow service

Took 45 minutes to get a plate for bland, uninspiring “peanut noodles”. Would absolutely avoid unless you have no other choice. At least they have quiet a few vegan options!

Man muss seeeehr viel Zeit mitbringen

Great food!

Recommend reading the menu properly. A lot of the vegan options are listed as part of a list. (For example bao buns are chicken, beef or tofu. But reads as if these are all the ingredients in the bun).

Highly recommend the tofu bao buns, veg spring rolls, veg noddles.

Really high quality food, outdoor seating (with shade) and great music being played!

Pros: Lots of options , Outside, shaded seating

Avoid!!

I got sold on this place by the previous review, but it's awful. The previous reviewer clearly didn't go to No.43...

There are not many vegan options and the ones they do have are extremely expensive for ting portions. Tiny portion of broccoli alone cost €6.80!!! Rice not included

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Expensive, Tiny portions, Few options

Some of the best vegan food in Valletta.

Absolutely loved the food here. Enjoyed it so much that we came back the following day. Everything seems very freshly prepared and whilst this does mean that you can wait a little longer to receive it, the quality of the food makes it worth it. They have quite a few vegan options on the menu which are clearly labelled, and I’d suggest ordering a few different dishes and sharing them. Some of my favourites included the tofu boa buns, the sweet chilli aubergine, the vegetable dumplings and the ‘plain’ noodles (which come in a delicious peanut sauce and were anything but plain), although honestly everything we tried here was fantastic. The only thing which I thought was a bit bland was the vegetable noodles, so I’d probably suggest skipping these. One area of improvement would be that I do think the staff could be a little more upbeat, but other than that I really can’t complain and it was by far one of my favourite places to eat during my stay in Valletta.

Pros: Many vegan options, clearly labelled, Freshly prepared, Fantastic flavours

Cons: Long waiting times for food (but worth it)

Wasn’t serving vegan food

We were really excited to eat here and we came the day of noitte Bianca several hours before the festival started and they informed us they wouldn’t be serving until 6 pm despite what the opening hours were. So we went next door to the food mart and shared an amazing vegan tofu dish from the philipeano booth that they made vegan specially for us. We came back at 6 because we were hard craving dim sum and again they said oh we aren’t serving until 7. So we went around enjoying the festival and came back at around 9 at which point they were serving food but only a set menu, no vegan options. Really disappointed ☹️

Solid food and great service

We sat outside (not sure if inside is possible) and the food was quite good, it just seemed that it was not the freshest food. But good if you like more unhealthy Chinese food, the spring rolls were good, the main course could be improved, was more salty than needed.

Pros: At least 6 vegan options , Quite inexpensive

Pretty basic for vegan

They didn’t have vegan dim sum or vegan curry samosas. We ordered vegan tofu dish with rice and udon noodle soup. The tofu dish was quite small portion especially if you are paying over €7 the noodle soup was average but the size was good.

Pros: Some vegan options

Cons: Expensive for what it is, Didn’t have two from three vegan small dishes
