Serves meat, vegan options available. Gastropub with a surprisingly veg-friendly selection of snacks and mains. The menu labels offerings if vegetarian, pescatarian, gluten free, or spicy; at least one of the vegetarian items lists vegan mayonnaise. Beer is the main attraction: there are several local and imported microbrews on tap. Reported closed May 2022.

Good vegan sandwich but limited vegan options

I enjoyed visiting Second Draft. It is a cool pub style venue, is popular, and had friendly service.

I had the “Not an egg salad sandwich” which I confirmed was vegan and tasted really good.

I am giving this 3 rather than 4 stars because it does not use vegan labelling (it has a label for vegetarian items) and after discussing with the waitress, it became apparent that they have v few vegan food options. Most of the vegetarian options contain dairy or egg.

If you want a pub experience with more vegan food options on HK side and have time to plan it, I would recommend The Globe instead.

Cons: Needs more vegan options

Surprisingly good veg selection

While most gastropubs in Hong Kong have few if any vegetarian (let alone vegan) nibbles other than greasy chips, Second Draft has a surprisingly good selection.

Also very nice of them to label vegetarian options on their menu.

Pros: Great beer, Several vegetarian options

Cons: Bar not restaurant - small servings
