Hello hello, I am the owner of Screamin’ Mimi’s. I take a lot of pride in our vegan Mimi’s mud. It has taken quite a while to develop that flavor. Your review says.” wow, was that good!”…. and yet we get four out of five stars. As I said to a previous reviewer, if you want people to offer good tasting vegan options, you might want to be generous with their reviews. That would encourage more people to come and buy the product that you like rather than me, deciding not to sell it because not enough people are buying it because we’ve only got an average of 3 1/2 stars on the vegan website.

Great place, limited vegan options - Edit
Screamin Mimi's is an institution in Sebastopol. I'm really glad they now have some vegan flavors, and what they have were very good. I really liked Mimi's Mud and Mint Chocolate Chip. However, they only have about 4 vegan flavors compared to probably 12 dairy flavors. And even some flavors listed online weren't available when we showed up. Hope they continue to expand.

Hello, thank you for the review but I would like to point out that we are an ice cream shop. Since we opened in 1995 we have always offered 16 dairy based ice cream creams and eight non-dairy sorbets. That is 1/3 of our options are vegan. That’s a pretty large percentage for an ice cream shop.

I had the orange lavender sorbet which weirdly tasted like a delicious lotion. Not terribly sweet. My friend had the vegan strawberry which also was well balanced and not too sweet.

I am the owner of Screamin’ Mimi’s. I appreciate your review, but please keep in mind, we are an ice cream shop. We opened 30 years ago and have been serving 16 dairy based ice cream flavors and eight ( non-dairy) sorbet since the day we opened. That’s one third of our offerings that are vegan since 1995.. We have changed from only fruit sorbets to include non-dairy creamy frozen desserts. Your review says everything was very good yet you give us three stars because you think we need more than 8 options (???). . If you want businesses to serve nondairy products, you might want to review them higher so that other people go there and try their non-dairy products and make it worth our while to continue to make those items.

Thank you very much. I had no idea that this site does not allow five stars to places that are not 100% vegan. I did not mean to be in any way negative. It’s just I don’t understand when somebody gives a great review and loves the place and then 4 stars …generally that’s a five star review. As a business owner it is really important to my bottom line to maintain really high ratings. We care very much about it. Not being able to achieve. The highest rating is very disappointing.. I completely understand its because of the platform. Thank you.
