Incredible experience: bulk, mostly organic and vegan, zero waste focus, a gem! - Edit
An excellent, ethically conscious experience throughout with a focus on no plastic, buy what you need in bulk, providing high quality primarily organic ingredients for eating, cooking, home and personal use.
Read moreAs you enter, the ethos of the shop is clearly labelled, as the focus being mainly organic, responsibly sourced whole foods, with the aim of zero waste. Instructions are clearly marked for how to get a paper bag and pen, writing down code for product and weighing them at handy stations throughout the shop.
The ingredients are mostly organic, very high quality and in bulk bins with scoops to use. The shop is well laid out and is a fun experience for those who love good ingredients, eating good food and cooking.
I love their emphasis on zero waste, so I can buy quality products, and importantly the amount I need, rather than the amount I am told to buy. I bought a great range of things at a wonderful price as I was paying for just what I need, this felt great.
Carrying it home was easier and I can reuse their small brown bags for other things or take back to reuse next time.
The range of items is amazing and goes from nut and seed butters, spices, salts, sugars, teas, flours, seeds, cereals, pulses, rices, chocolate (look for ingredients to clarify if vegan), organic locally made kombucha, jamu, vegan yoghurt, mayonnaise, sauces, oils, it is a vegan wholefoods dream!
The new personal hygiene section is incredible, you are encouraged to blend your own lotions, oils and cosmetics: there are ingredients to make salts, scrubs. There is clay, shea, coconut oil, shampoos, conditioners, castille soap, laundry and dish washing detergents, glass and surface cleansers, mould spray, soap berries, tooth powder, bamboo tooth brushes and very helpful staff to give advice and tips.
In the back section, there are items for sale like paper and beeswax wraps, responsibly sourced teak products and utensils, straws, steel and bamboo, reusable cups, lunchboxes and tiffins and stainless steel drums for bulk.
There are various sizes and shapes of glass bottles for bulk buying and reuse is strongly encouraged with lower prices offered in bulk.
I had such a great time finding excellent ingredients without the discomforting feeling of buying too much, in too much packaging and spending too much, this is how all shopping experiences should be, very highly recommended.
Pros: Huge vegan and organic range, Zero waste focus buy what you need , Bulk buying minimises waste and cost
