Be EXTREMELY careful here if you are vegan

My friend and I (both vegan) bought a groupon voucher advertised as a vegan menu del dia. The guy seemed friendly when we arrived- we mentioned being vegan and he responded with, 'of course' and enthusiastic nods. However, when we took our food away and opened it the cheese on the lasagne seemed suspiciously real. Upon calling him he stated that it was in fact lactose free and not vegan and all! We then went back to the shop to return our meal and explained the definition of vegan and then waited for the dessert for 20 minuites and he brought out 2 cold, clearly already made, tiny cup cakes. My friend asked him if they were vegan, he said yes, to make sure she said 'so they have no eggs?' Ooops. Not vegan AGAIN. He finally gave us another two, tiny, rubbery cakes and we were left feeling very short changed, even with the groupon taken into consideration. An experience not to be repeated!
