Serves meat, vegan options available. Indonesian restaurant and bar with fully vegan mains including rice and noodle dishes. Open Mon-Sat 12:00-22:00.
Closed Sun.
We were told that nothing on the menu was vegan. When we asked what was not vegan about "vegetables in coconut milk", they did not answer our questions. They just kept repeating that there was nothing vegan.
I’m not an expert in Indonesian food so I can’t judge if it’s truly authentic high quality etc etc but honestly I enjoyed the experience very much. Tasted flavors I had never experienced before. Would recommend it :)
Very disappointing. If you know what Indonesian food tastes like dont bother. This is like the stuff they feed to white European tourists - watery and bland, not rich and flavoursome like its supposed to be. Im sure they know how to make real indo food but this has been modified for western palates. Only about 6 a la carte vegan dishes, so you've no choice but to try them all. The tofu in soy sauce and garlic with bean sprout and spring onion was the best thing.
Sama Sebo is a restaurant with an almost family-like atmosphere that can immerse the diner in a complete experience. The food is very good and there are many vegetable alternatives, all seasoned with very spicy flavors and interesting pairings.
Spotted Sama Sebo en route to Wagamama’s from the Museumplein, as was very glad i did! Not completely vegan menu, but soooo many great vegan options, plentiful portions, and attentive service.
