Disappointing all round - Edit
Honestly....all my friends told me to go here and it was the biggest disappointment. Greasy ...... unseasoned... watery cocktails... it was terrible. Service was weird ... seems like they were short staffed with no bartender. Everything was bad. Honestly so disappointed

New King of the Vegan Burger - Edit
For the last couple of years, the three MEET locations in Vancouver were my undisputed champion of vegan junk/comfort food. My opinion has been changed.
Read moreLast year we visited Kelowna, but happened to be there while Renegade was closed. This year, we weren’t really passing though, however we were close enough that we jaunted across the bridge to try this place out. I’m so glad that we did.
The cauliflower wings were fantastic. Light, but crunchy batter with a wide array of sauces. Great way to start a meal.
I had the Smoke Show burger, while my wife went with the classic Renegade Burger, and I wouldn’t hesitate to order either again. The house-made burger has a great mouth feel, with a great umami flavour. The toppings and sauces were great and the pretzel bun sets this apart from most vegan burger joints.
Finally, the fries. Hand cut, have to be twice fried. Super crispy, yet fluffy in the middle. My wife upgraded hers to the poutine and they were still super crispy covered in gravy and vegan cheese curds.
It’s definitely not fine dinning, but hey everyone needs that satisfying, indulgent, comfort food now and again. This one delivers in spades and I honestly think you could take you’re most meat hungry friend there and they would think it’s a great meal.

This is some of my all time favourite vegan food. Insanely good cauliflower wings and burgers along a very stacked list of poutines. There is a lot more to choose from and it will make you feel very happy and very full. Plus Milkshakes!!! Great staff and pleasant atmosphere. It is in a rougher area of town just off the main strip but worth every penny.

Beautiful restaurant. I did take out because of current covid restrictions. I had the classic poutine, ceasar salad and salt and pepper cauliflower wings and they were all fantastic! I will definitely be back. They were super helpful in timing it around when I'd be able to pick it up. The person that helped me on the phone and at the counter was super friendly and helpful.

My husband and I dined in and got a very nice booth surrounded by portraits of hip-hop artists with a cool pop punk playlist. We ate jackfruit crabcakes, the renegade burgers, tacos and peanut pie. The honeycomb on the peanut pie was out of this world. How do they create it so close to real honeycomb?

The Mac and cheese is to die for. I love EVERYTHING from renegade kitchen. Their new Korean chkn sandwich is so good and I love their Cesar salads. The corn dog is also SO tasty. Staff are wonderful and overall great vibes. They use compostable take-out containers too!

Definitely vegan comfort, not health food (as their menu states!). They nail it. Had renegade burger and fries. Both delicious. They make in house burger patty (seitan) and do a really good job - one of the best we have had. Wish we had time to try more - next visit.

Won over my omnivore hubby - Edit
I’ll come back and write more later, but we went opening week and got a variety of items (nachos, wings, poutine, burgers, BLT, etc) and even my hubby who eats meat and dairy said that it was good! I loved everything and went again a week later with one of my vegan friends and we were just as impressed. Tacos and donuts?! Need I say more?!? Just go here now. If you haven’t been you need to go. If you’ve gone, go back. You know I speak truth. Renegade is amazing! Food is outstanding and the owners are gems.

A Must Stop for Locals and Tourists - Edit
After having enjoyed their delicious food from their signature food truck, my expectations were high for their new brick and mortar restaurant. It didn’t disappoint and if anything the atmosphere (hip and casual) added to the dining experience. We started with a poutine (a Canadian staple) and fried pickles, the latter tangy and served with a tartar sauce. Outstanding! We each then ordered burgers, the Renegade being a standout for me - in house made patty with a delightful texture. Everyone at the table agree that the food was plentiful and delicious. At the server’s recommendation, we ended the meal with the daily pie (peanut butter) and warm, just made donuts - fantastic. Located in an up & coming area of the downtown core, the immediate area surrounding the restaurant is colorful for sure but don’t let that deter you - you’re in for some fantastic vegan comfort food! Back soon to try their nachos!

This food truck has built a loyal following and I’ll admit I’m slow to get on board. I’ve heard the Rueben is fantastic and look forward to trying that. Their homemade burger is the best I’ve had (and I’ve had a few in my day). The patty is an interesting texture and not greasy like other burgers. An unusual dish is their BBQ Chicken Poutine - our table of 4 went silent as we dug in. The texture of the tofu here is excellent and the flavour spicy and tangy. It’s a decadent treat for sure and poutine is a Canadian delicacy that visitors should try. This food truck can be found at different breweries and vineyards throughout the week in high season. Can’t wait for their restaurant to open!

^ for reasons that you should try everything from the avocado fries to the cider-glazed donuts and you WILL need room in your pants for this amazing food. The pulled jackfruit sandwich is unbelievable. There are almost too many versions of poutine to try, but you'll just have to return to try them (and you'll want to). I love how they carry local beers and ciders, and make crafty cocktails.

We went to Renegade Kitchen for the first time yesterday, never been to the truck, and the food was amazing and the portion sizes were substantial. We tried the Renegade Burger with Classic Poutine and the Pulled "Pork" with a salad. We were very impressed by both, but the burger was the true star. The best homemade burger we've had (soy based) and competes with the Beyond Meat patty for texture and taste. We'll definitely go back.
