Good food

The food was good, but no more than good for me. The food hit the spot, but wasn’t overly exciting or overly tasty.

Unbelievable

Wow my first experience eating Ethiopian food and it did not disappoint. The best curry I've ever had! The cooked spinach was so good. I can't wait to return!!

Pros: delicious, friendly staff, amazing flavours

clean and simple

This stall on the market offers healthy simple food with flavour coming from the optional spicy salsa and delicious fresh sambosas. All served with a smile.

amazing food

I’ve been coming here for about 9 years now, and the prices have stayed consistent- 5 lentil samosas for £2 is an amazing deal. A delicious choice of vegetable and lentil curries and stewed spinach, along with rice or cous cous.

Pros: delicious food, very good value for money , authentic, Ethiopian food

Delicious vegan market food!

I try to come to this stall every time I’m in Greenwich. The food is all vegan, the portions are large, and it is AMAZING. Try to bring your own container and utensils though, as they use plastic at the market.

Filling and warm

My first time trying Ethiopian food and I have to say that it has filled my tummy with their warmth in the cold winter. It had a variety of everything in their box set. I also tried their samosa which were really nice too

Amazing

We lived nearby and went here all the time, now that we live a bit further away we still come here often. Can't recommend it highly enough. It's always tasty and filling. They sometimes serve meat but the vegan dishes are always available.

Pros: Tasty

Cons: Sometimes serve meat

Good value

Hot and tasty food at a cheap price of £5.50. I had the vegan box which was several pulse and vegetable based sides served on injera. It wasn't too spicy and the injera was tangy. Worth a visit!

Pros: Cheap, filling and tasty.

Cons: Meat was served at this stall.

Affordable vegan magic on a plate!

Choose from various curries and salads, with either rice, couscous or injera (East African sourdough-risen flatbread with a unique, slightly spongy texture).

A mixed box cost £5.

fantastic food!

I love this food so much. I love locally and always get it when I go to the market. Huge portions full of flavour. If you go to the market as they are closing you get the food for less money too, £3.50 instead of £5.

Best Vegan Hot Food in Greenwich

If you're looking for a healthy, filling and comforting meal, out and about in Greenwich, head to the Ethiopian Vegetarian Food stall in the market on Wednesdays through to Sundays.

Enjoy a Lentil and Spinach Soup, 2 different flavours of Vegetable Sambosas and, my favourite, the mixed boxes which comprise of Rice or Couscous, and Lentil, Spinach and Chickpea-based dishes with the choice of added hot chilli sauces.

Prices are very reasonable and all the food is vegan.
The company was also awarded the Tower Hamlets Healthy Eating Award.

I like to get my mixed box and head over the road by the Cutty Sark Ship to eat my lunch watching the boats and sometimes Cruise ships which head up and down the River Thames. This food is great in all seasons and is my favourite food in Greenwich.

Pros: Great tasting Vegan Food, Good price, Good portions
