Great for stocking up on vegan products

Amazing selection of products but staff sometimes have poor attitude and are unhelpful. They have very high shelves and I have experienced staff sigh as I ask them to get something down for me. I’d look past this if it happened once, but staff regularly behave like this.

Apart from the customer service, this is a great store with a really wide selection of vegan products.

Cons: Not wheelchair accessible

Great health store with lots of vg products

This store has a huge variety of vegan products. I was looking for some sweet products and they had everything I was searching for: sweet spreads, an amazing amount of chocolate, protein bars and healthy snacks.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Great promotions, Central location

The shop to go for vegan food in Edinburgh

Always lots of options and pleasant staff. Wish they had more lunch options but it’s the tinciest gripe

The range in this shop!

I really like this shop and used to go here to buy products I wouldn't usually find in a regular supermarket and vegan chocolate. They got so many good vegan products and they also have student discount!
As it's not a 100% vegan shop it only gets 4 stars from me although I recommend the shop.

Pros: Huge variety of vegan stuff, Student discount, Big shop

Cons: Not 100% vegan

Exciting variety of vegan products

New and exciting vegan products are to be found here. While the prices may be a little higher, you are guaranteed to find a good selection of interesting vegan and eco friendly food, cleaning, alcohol, and body products that you may find difficult to source elsewhere.

Lovely place

There is such range here, with shelves like skyscrapers. I just went in looking for popcorn kernels with a limited budget, and I found what I was looking for. I will definitely go there again when trying to find ingredients for some of the more trying ingredients in vegetarian dishes. There also seems to be a range of bag sizes, so something for everything. Everything seems to be bagged in plastic, but I hope this changes in the future.

Great little shop

This is an excellent place to buy vegan and health foods. They have a really vast selection of grains, nuts and vegan alternatives (mayo, cheese, etc.)

Additionally, as well as a top food range, they stock great home, and skin products such and toiletries, washing liquid, eco cling film and all sorts.

Pros: So much variety, Well stocked, Knowledgeable and friendly staff

Cons: Could easily spend far too much money!

Excellent!

Without a doubt THE place to shop for healthy, organic, high-quality food (and also natural household products/toiletries) in Edinburgh. Pricey but worth it. Great atmosphere. Shame they don't stock the vegan guacamole any more though!

Nice shop

This an extremely well stocked natural foods store with a lot of harder to find vegan items. Lots of choice and friendly staff. We found prices to be steep on some items, but reasonable and right in line with other shops on others. With so many goodies it is very easy to overspend!

Pros: Great selection of products

Cons: Some things priced high

Soooo much food!

I pop in here when I'm near the bus station and have some spare time, or for today, was on the hunt for coconut caramel sauce I'd seen a photo of online. Got my sauce, and also an onion bhaji and a Jordan Valley pie - needed some supplies I could carry around to snack on between Edinburgh Fringe shows. I could easily spend a fortune on all the vegan cheeses, the sauces, the salad dressings, the tofu... it's a good goto for new product spotting and really close to the bus station. I don't live in Edinburgh so haven't spent enough time in the shop to have any cons. As a tourist it does me for a browse.

Pros: Lots of hard to find vegan products, Close to the bus station

A godsend

Not sure what we'd do in Edinburgh without Real Foods. Good selection of Veggie meats with stuff you won't get in supermarkets. The best thing however is that they have just started to stock Tofurkey products!

Good selection of speciality items

I'm not sure why, but they don't stock Alpro almond milk, which you can get in places like Tesco. One of the few places that you can find specific items like Violife, Vegusto, or Tofutti in Edinburgh, and this place has the best range of each brand.

A bit on the pricey side, but good for a treat, especially with so much choice! Also they have a 5% (I think?) student discount if you show a student card.

Lots of vegan staples

This is the best natural foods market we found in Edinburgh. We got many of our staples there: Oatley cream, cocoa powder, etc. However, the puff pastry was actually not vegan (though it is at the regular stores) and the ready made fridge food was dry and boring. We will definitely go back to stock up on vegan specialty items.

Pros: Good range of products

Cons: Boring ready-made food

Friendly shop

This shop has a lot to offer and a wide range of products. The staff is very helpful, which I needed because it is a bit chaotic and I had troubles to find what I was looking for. However, they have so many things to offer that I can find something I've never tried before every time I go there, and temptation to buy and try all these things is huge.
Check out their chocolates, they have many yummy vegan choices :)

Pros: Product range, Friendly Staff, Location

Cons: A little bit chaotic

Best shop for veggies

This place is excellent with a big range of options for vegans to try and stock up on. Real Foods is one of the big things I'll miss about not living in Edinburgh anymore.

They have a slighly complicated discount system for students, (5% off some goods but not goods already discontented) which the staff have on a few occassions miscalculated.

Pros: Range of options, friendly staff

Cons: Miscalculating discounts

My favourite food shop in Edinburgh!

I go here very often to do my food shopping because they have such an amazing range of vegan produce, especially the amazing Sojade fruit yoghurts and vegan ice creams as well as vegan chocolate of all shades! Many of their products are slightly on the pricey side but it's all very good quality and delicious.

Pros: Great vegan selection, Good quality

Best Vegan/Veggie Products Shop in Scotland

Slightly bigger than their other store in Brougham Street, but that's good too. Amazing choice, helpful staff. Can't fault it.

Well stocked natural store, many nooks and crannie

At first glimpse it doesn't seem like a lot, but then you find a few pockets and realize this is a well stocked natural food's store. Really well located, too! I can't imagine you won't find what you are looking for or close to it here!

Extremely well stocked

Some great products here tightly packed in what is quite a large shop. Prices can be steep, unless you can find some special offers but I suppose that's how it is with independent shops. I cannot fault the huge range of foods and toiletries etc, there are things I have never seen before available here. Some of the organic vegetables look a bit ropey but they come straight from the earth and I'm sure they'd be fine if prepared on the day of purchase. Over all, a nice shop in a cool part of the city.

Pros: range, location

Cons: price

Real Foods, Edinburgh

Good choice health food shop at the top of Broughton St in Central Edinburgh. Open 7 days a week. Staff were helpful and pleasant enough. Plenty for vegan veggies.

Pros: Good choice / Very vegan veggie friendly, central, Open 7 days
