EDIT 2/19/2024: I've been enjoying Rainbow for brunch the past few years, and just this past weekend was told I could get their Italian iced sodas made with oatmilk instead of cream. I got a raspberry Italian soda with oat milk, and it absolutely ruled. Can't wait to be refreshed all summer long.
Read moreRainbow is a great spot for a sit down lunch - the patio is cute and quaint, and you can get brunch drinks. They have great breakfast burritos, and you can get stuff like tofu scramble and tempeh as proteins. But I think the sleeper best thing here are their to-go burritos. They have a vegan one that's big and fat and loaded up for like $6 - less than half the cost of sitting down and eating something inside.

The home fried potatoes are possibly the best I’ve ever had. We got the Migas and a Philly scramble, both with tofu. They also offer tempeh as an option. You just order it vegan and they know what to do. Great flavor and a cute space. So many options. Servers are friendly and keep your coffee topped up. Will be back for sure!

I love Rainbow! Things changed after Covid: You now place your order at a counter (usually after standing in line) and then a server brings your food to your table. The menu is reduced now too, but what remains is delicious. They still have *several* vegan options. My current favorite is the sweet potato burrito.

They have so many vegan options that are either initially vegan or can be made vegan. I never know what to get because there are so many options. The green chile burrito is one of my favorite things ever.

I love that we can meet non-vegan friends here and everyone has options that satisfy their dietary preferences. GREAT vegan food, great coffee, great service. We've been here several times now.

They have lots of vegan menu items and others have a vegan option. They have sweet and savory options and delicious coffee. I had the vegan to go burrito with hazelnut coffee and it was super good. The tortilla was soft and the filling was flavorful.

The tofu scramble is ace and it can come with vegan cheese! It has veggies, potatoes, tofu and toast with avocado.

I ordered a vegan & gluten-free Amigas after scoping out the well optioned menu, the only disappointment is that the gluten-free bread options are not vegan, but there is still lots of deliciousness left to consider. The space inside was warm and welcoming, and the outside patio was equally as quaint, I opted for outside and enjoyed the day while waiting for my food. Less than ten minutes later the food arrived and when I looked at it I realized something was lost in translation. It had toast on the side, which I’d doubled up on potatoes since there wasn’t a vegan gluten-free option, and there was cheese on top of the tofu…the waiter confirmed my suspicions and took everything back to the kitchen for another attempt. About 5 minutes later the fully corrected meal came out and admittedly, it was delicious and hit the spot perfectly. I heard at least one other mistaken order beside me, so if you have strict dietary restrictions, definitely double check things. Overall the ambiance is phenomenal and food is delicious, you just have to do a few careful checks along the way if you’re strict.

Ive only had the breakfast here so cant speak on the rest of the menu but the breakfast burritos lack taste to me. The potatoes are great and also had some kind of breakfast bowl that was ok. I feel like this could be a great place if the vegan option were better and tastier.

My meat eating sister and I really enjoyed the food. We both had a bowl with chickpeas, pickled cabbage, rice etc. She had chicken and I had the tempeh. It was delicious! A really nice, clean atmosphere and a ver pleasant staff.

Excellent Breakfast Burritos - Edit
Rainbow has some of the tastiest vegan breakfast burritos around! Mornings Monday through Friday they are preparing plant-based breakfast glory stuffed with pillowy soft potatoes, tender tofu chunks with a perfectly seasoned oniony sauce and wrapped in a white flour tortilla. I just had my first one this morning and I LOVED IT! You HAVE to give it a try! It will definitely be a regular breakfast item for me!

Read moreAs mentioned earlier, there are only two items labeled as "vegan," however, almost anything on the menu can be made vegan on request. For example, my hubby is addicted to their breakfast burrito which he orders vegan--it comes with tofu and vegan cheez.
My favorite is the tofu scramble which is, as mentioned earlier, a bit dry. I remedy that by ordering a side of black beans which I dump on the top. Presto! Not dry!
I order my toast (which is made from homemade bread) dry and really enjoy their delicious fruit jam.
Another benefit of Rainbow: it's very omni-friendly. When I started a new job and was being taken out to lunch. I chose Rainbow and everyone was very happy. I was able to eat my vegan food, and my co-workers were happy with their burgers, soups, etc.
Other great things: they offer regular and hazelnut coffee. Soy or almond milk is available to use as creamer. Their staff is super friendly (especially the owners) and knowledgeable about what is vegan or can be made vegan.
In warm weather, the back patio is a wonderful place to sit. There's lots of shade, so you don't have to worry about sunburn.
Pros: Best place in FoCo for vegan breakfast, Almost anything can be made vegan, Omni-friendly.
Cons: Long waits on weekends., Not much parking.

We have been here multiple times. They only have 2 vegan options and we are tired of them. The vegan coffee cake is good but we try to avoid fats so don't order it often.

We were excited to try this place, as several of our new FOCO acquaintances said it was good. We ordered the tofu scramble and the vegan coffee cake. The scramble was disappointing - not really a typical breakfast scramble at all. It consisted of cubes of tofu sautéed with veggies, so rather a stir fry more than a scramble. The home fries were good, and the bread was tasty. They make their own jelly which was also disappointing - very runny with little flavor. We will not be back unless there are significant changes. We agree with the previous reviewer that this place is not really vegan friendly at all.
