Lovely food and cheap too! - Edit
Lovely, little place with an upstairs room for larger parties. Nice food, great value for money and good energy, too. Definitely worth a drop in.

Really yummy food at good prices. I really like the style of food service and wish there was more like this. It's also a good place to eat if you are by yourself.

Really cozy environment - Edit
I really like the cozy environment and the way you can choose the food you want by seeing it in the cabinet. I had a mix of two dishes and a salad as well as a iced chia. The food was so good but the chai wasn’t very nice. I wouldn’t recommend the ice chia as it was pretty weak and they forgot about it until my meal was almost finished.

Great find for a lunch! - Edit
We popped in for lunch and ordered a burger and a wrap. Both were nice, but lacked a little in seasoning (which we added ourselves).
Read moreHad to wait a while for the meal but thats ok. The lady was there on her own and doing best she could.
The food wasn't AMAZING. But it was good value for money.
One thing I would love to see them do, is get rid of the plastic straws!. We are vegan for health reasons as much as environmental reasons, so to get our juice in a glass (great!) with a plastic straw (not great).
Keep up good work.
Pros: cheap, large serves, laid back
Cons: Took a long time , plastic straw served with juice , food lacked seasoning.

I really enjoy this place, I love its atmosphere.

Highly recommended. Only 4 stars because not 100% vegan.

Quick and tasty - Edit
I had a vegetable curry with a roti, a samosa with chick pea sauce and pakoras with a tomato based sauce as well as a pot of chai. The curry, roti and pakoras were very good, the samosa was a bit bland and I enjoyed the chai. There were tables free when I came in.
Read moreStaff were friendly and service was quick. I had to wait a few minutes for the roti and chai that were both freshly prepared but the other items (from the bain marie) were given to me at the start. The desserts looked good, but I didn't have any room left...
The cafe has lots of natural light and the tsble I had right out the front has a great view of the goings on of Brunswick St.
It would be great if the non-vegan items eg. Lasagna could be changed to vegan, though there's a reasonable number of vegan choices already.

Bland and Rude - Edit
Tried to go for my second visit last Saturday, but was deterred by a rude female attendant who after saying can I help you shifted her attention to an arrogant male customer who butted in with a question. The attendant then decided to serve him totally cutting me off.Needless to say I walked out.Our first visit some 6 weeks earlier was plainly uninspiring.Bland standard Hare Krishna curries and salads with boring décor to match.Really these days non meat eateries can't afford to be stuck in the 70s!

Lovely little place - Edit
Had lasagna and arancini, both were very good and relatively cheap. Food is served very quickly, as it is served canteen-style. The interior was very cosy, reminding me a lot of little cafes in the Netherlands. would definitely recommed.

Nice place but needs a bit of work - Edit
Fell across this place just when we needed some lunch. Tempted by some interesting items on the menu like vegan meat balls which I ordered. A tad disappointing as these tasted and looked a lot like felafels - rather than their own taste - and the white boiled rice was tasteless and not very palatable (and less healthy than brown.) There were at least five things on the menu that were not available the day we went and after eating, when we asked for hot chocolate with vegan marshmallows, we were told we would have to wait at least half an hour - we didn't bother. All that said it was not over priced, the cafe was pleasant and its Hare Krishna background not rammed to far down your throat. Would visit again.
