Cheap and cheerful

A standard chippy that's surprisingly cheap. Dedicated vegan menu. Service a little slow, but decent food.

Decent

I enjoyed the food from Princes although it wasn't anything stand out. Me and my wife went for three battered vegan sausages, vegan large chips and a portion of vegan nuggets (to share between us). We also got curry sauce and mushy peas which weren't on the vegan menu but I was told were vegan (there seemed to be some confusion when I was asking though so I wouldn't say confidently that those were definitely vegan).

The food was decent and I enjoyed it but I would say it was pretty average. The sausage batter was more stodgy than crispy and the same with the nuggets. I still enjoyed them though. The nuggets also came with a sauce of choice although unfortunately they sent us non-vegan tartar sauce (instead of the BBQ we chose), which I thought was a bit disappointing.

It was also quite expensive considering the quality (£28 total) and it was disappointing to see that they charged more for “vegan” chips than regular chips.

All that said, most chip shops don't have any vegan options and the food was still enjoyable, so I still think it's worth a visit if you're craving chip shop grub.

Pros: Pretty tasty

Cons: A bit pricey for the quality, Charge more for "Vegan" chips than regular chips, Sent us non-vegan tartar sauce instead of BBQ

Traditional greasy fish and chips!

Small vegan menu, we had the fish fillet and the battered sausage. It's not gourmet delicious food - but it's not trying to be!

Pros: Small vegan menu
